Please help give them the tools they need to succeed by making a donation to Park Village Foundation’s Annual Golden Envelope Pledge Drive. Our goal is to keep ALL of the same academic and community programs that make Park Village a top-rated elementary school in Poway Unified - and a CA Distinguished School. Since 2004, the Park Village Foundation has collected donations from generous parents like you to fill the gaps in our school’s budget and provide an enriched educational experience benefiting every child in school. Last year, we spent over $100,000 providing Art, Music, Physical Education, Science, and Technology programs for our students. We cannot achieve these goals without you, our PV families!
Join us today in continuing the tradition of excellence at Park Village by making your 100% tax-deductible donation to the PV Foundation. (https://parkvillagefoundation.com/products/fall-pledge-drive) The suggested contribution is $350 per student, but donations of every size are welcomed and appreciated, and payment options are available.
Your donation truly MAKES WAVES!
Room Parent Meeting on 09/12
Hello Park Village Parents,
Are you looking for ways to volunteer this year? Each class will need a room parent (or room parent team) to help relay important information to your class, coordinate events throughout the year, and provide support to your student's teacher. Typical room parent duties include forwarding important info to your classes, planning class parties, coordinating events such as teacher/staff appreciation week, collecting information, and working closely with your teacher to ensure a smooth and fun year for students. There will be a room parent meeting on Monday, September 12th (at PVES MPR Room at 6:30pm). If you are interested, please notify your teacher. It is extremely helpful for your teachers to have room parents and makes it easier for our families to receive important communications from the school as well as planning all the fun things our kids love to do! Please direct any questions to pve.roomparents@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration!

Paper Picnic with Penguins - More Details
Please note: TK & Kinder will not be participating in this months Picnic as we know it is still difficult for them and parents to be separated. We look forward to our TK & Kinder classes participating in the next Picnic with Penguins event!
Our first one to kick off the new year will be a paper fundraiser, "Paper Picnic with Penguins". Please help our school by donating a ream of copy paper as your ticket to enter and have lunch with your child during their lunchtime.
“Picnic with Penguins” is sponsored by D.A.D.S (more on the D.A.D.S. Group below) and is an opportunity for all parents to come enjoy lunch with their student on campus. Some parents bring lunches from nearby restaurants and some bring in lunches made at home. If you're running late you can always get a school lunch for free! Feel free to hang out with your child while they eat lunch and use it as a great opportunity to take a break from your day to spend quality time with your children, and meet other parents.
HOUSEKEEPING RULES:
1. There will be many adults visiting campus. All Adults are required to sign in at the front gate. Do not go through the front office and there is no need to sign out to leave campus
2. Please comply with all traffic and parking regulations on and adjacent to campus. Absolutely NO PARKING allowed in the school parking lot as this is for staff only.
3. Please do not take food onto the playground areas, and please dispose of all trash properly.
D.A.D.S. Group, the acronym stands for Dedicated And Determined Support is a group of (mostly, but not exclusively) fathers who want to make a positive impact on our children's school and school experience. In addition to organizing Picnic with Penguins, the D.A.D.S. Group sponsors and supports several school events throughout the year and engaged in many campus maintenance and improvement projects over the years.

STUDENTS grades 3-5: How to Keep Your Child's Chromebook Running Smoothly
Now that we're back in school, teachers are noticing that many student Chromebooks are not up to date. System updates fix 95% of Chromebook issues and it's not difficult to do.
PUSD Chromebook Tips - Device Updates (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-fSKMkszT0) This short video will describe how you and your child can keep the Chromebook up-to-date. If the Chromebook hasn't been updated in a while, you may need to check for updates multiple times.
Remind your child to completely shut down their Chromebook at least once per week, as shown in the video above. This allows the device to receive updates automatically.
More tips and Chromebook information can be found on the PVES website at https://www.powayusd.com/en-US/Schools/ES/PVES/Academics/Technolog
