What is the Sherman Anti-trust Act?
The Sherman Anti-trust Act was the first U.S law to limit cartels and monopolies. What it did, is that it made it illegal for the government to prohibit any businesses from running and making profit in the United States.
When was this act put into place?
This act was put into place in 1890, it was proposed to the U.S senate by John Sherman.
Who was John Sherman?
John Sherman (1823 - 1900), was a U.S senator from Ohio who served as chairman of the Senate finance committee.
