"Owl" About Our Week ~ November 10-14, 2014

Honoring Our Veterans, November 11th

On Tuesday, the Chireno ISD Student Council organized and presented a tribute to our country's Veterans. Students brought photos of Veterans from their own families and other loved ones to be displayed on a wall of honor in the gym. The Cub Scouts from Pack 886 along with Mr. Ryan Johnston and FFA members, presented the military flags and led the pledge to the United States Flag. Elementary Students created posters and carried flags to show their appreciation for those who have served our country. Veterans were treated to refreshments in the snack shack after the assembly. Mrs. Dinbali, Mr. Johnston, Cub Scout Members, and FFA Students should be commended on planning and presenting this successful assembly.

Faculty and Staff Spotlights

A Moment of Thanksgiving

When I Count My Blessings, I Count You Twice!

Faculty, Staff, and Friends,

During this season of Thanksgiving, you should know how much you are appreciated. We are blessed beyond measure at Chireno ISD, and YOU ALL are a huge part of the key to our success. When I look around our campus each day, I see people who love their jobs, the students they teach, and the people they have the pleasure of working with each day. I see the faces of our kids who are overcome with excitement with each new opportunity or the smallest acts of friendship. I see the older students walking hand-in-hand with their younger friends, students loaning jackets to their classmates, high-fives shared, and hugs given freely. Sometimes we get so caught up in the daily tasks and duties of our jobs, that we can't see the big picture. I encourage you to take a moment and quietly observe how Chireno Owls of all ages interact with one another. What you will find is the secret to our success: Love, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Acceptance, and Respect! In the grand scheme of things, you are modeling behaviors that can't be found in any textbook. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful team and community. Thank you for your time and commitment to Chireno ISD.

Please enjoy the well deserved break with your families.

Blessings to you and your family,

Brandy Gray
