Girls Tennis

Your 2019 girl's tennis season came to an end this weekend, but not before making an improbable run into the state championship match where we finished as state runner up behind Xavier.

The girls finished the regular season ranked #4 in state, went 14-4 overall, won the CUSD Invitational back in April, and ultimately made it further in state than any other team before them.

Congratulations to all of them, and thank you to seniors Anisha Agarwal, Katie Dussault, Daniela Gonzalez, Nisha Kalmadi and Hannah Szoke for all of their hard work this year and over the past 4 years.

We will get back to the state championship again next year and give it another crack!

AVID Siging Day

Championed by former First Lady Michelle Obama and hosted by schools, organizations, community leaders and influencers, College Signing Day is a chance to rally around students who have committed to higher education. This year 3,000 of the best high schools selected to participate including Hamilton. Hamilton celebrated the 30 graduates of the AVID program. Every student who commits to going to and completing college deserves to be celebrated, and our celebration did not disappoint. Seniors Karina Martinez and Madison Kier gave inspirational speeches in front of a packed house. Whether at a community college, a university, a certification program, the military or any other education past high school, College Signing Day shows support for this future. The event is a way for educators, counselors and parents to encourage those heading to college, and while also being a way for students to inspire and encourage others. Hamilton AVID is thankful for ALL those who made this day a smashing success. We hope to make this an annual event and encourage all to "Dare to Dream."

Boys Tennis Team Season

After 4 1/2 hours of battling with Brophy, the Boys Tennis Team ended with a score of 3-5, State Runner-up Champions! The boys had an incredible regular season at 13-1 and finishing 2nd in state! We are very proud of these tough young men!

Student of the Year Awards

On Friday, May 3, Hamilton recognized their students of the year during a breakfast held in their honor. These students were chosen by their teachers for academic achievement, academic growth, leadership and/or character. Students were also chosen by each department and each grade level as their chosen student of the year as well as athlete and scholar athlete of the year. In addition, the 2019 Dr. Fred De Prez Outstanding Senior Student of the Year Award was given to Karsen Burke.

Hamilton's CTE Marketing classes

HHS CTE Marketing classes led by Dr. Thompson came together on 4/25/2019 to host the Sun Lakes Rotary Club "Summer Splash" event. Dr. T and her students did a phenomenal job! The students wrapped and bundled 8907 Newspapers set for delivery the next day. It was hot and the students worked hard. They also had a lot of fun. Great Job everyone!

Case manager Brienna Gass and some of our wonderful senior art students were busy making our freshmen feel at home in the 'N' building. These wonderful students volunteered their skills and time to this project. #huskyproud #Classof2019 #tradition #integrity #excellence #huskiesgivingbacktohuskies

National Mathleague Competition

Over the past weekend, Michael Chen, Xenia Zhao, and Alec Gonzalez traveled to Kansas City to represent Hamilton High School at the National Mathleague Competition. They had a wonderful experience exploring the city and bonding together as a team. They worked very hard to all place in the top 20 in their grade and top 50 overall, and even with only three people, they managed to place 6th place as a team against many other teams that had as many as 20 or more students. Congratulations to the math team and their impressive achievements!
