This Week at École OLPH
November 6 to 10
Message from the Office
Dear Parents & Students,
Please remember that school doors open at 8:25 a.m. in the morning and that students go outside for morning recess and at lunch time. As the weather cools – please ensure your children are dressed appropriately (tuques & mitts). Students are expected to be outside unless it is -20C +/- with wind chill.
We will continue our protocol for parents visiting the school. All parents and visitors are required to sign in at the office at all times and obtain a visitor badge prior to heading to your child’s classroom. If you need to drop something off for your child, you may leave it at the office and we will contact your child to come to the office during a break.
You may also report your child’s absence using the Safe Arrival website (http://elkislandcs.schoolconnects.com), the Safe Arrival mobile APP, or by calling 1-877-246-9970.
If your child arrives late (due to an appointment, etc.) they must check in at the office. If you need to pick up your child for an appointment during the day the parent must come in to the office to sign the child out.
Please contact the principals M. Morin or M. St. Jean if you have any questions.
God Bless

Insight Testing
Dear Parents,
Students do not need to study for this type of assessment, and the results are not used to evaluate their school achievement. The results provide information to help teachers recognize student strengths and plan for additional supports as needed.
If you would like to learn more about this assessment tool, please visit http://www.canadiantestcentre.com and select the Insight tab near the top of the page. While there you may also want to look into the CAT-4 academic assessment tool, which will be used to measure overall academic ability of Grade 4 and 7 students in the spring.
