Park View Newsletter
Mrs. Wallerstedt. 5/28/21
Before we head off into the summer break . . . . . . .
You can access your child(ren)'s report card(s) for this final trimester. Login to Skyward and click 'Report Cards' on the left side of the screen. The final trimester report cards became accessible at 3:30pm today.
All devices should be returned to school with chargers. If you child(ren)'s device(s) has/have not been returned, please call the office at (630)827-4040 and make arrangements to come in and drop it/them off. We do need all devices and chargers returned. Next week the office is opened from 8:30 - 4:00 pm Tuesday through Friday.
Although this year was a challenge, our Panthers moved from the remote only learning model to a hybrid model that grew into 4-days per week; and all students learned a lot as we navigated through a new way of doing school. The best way to maximize on this year is to engage your child(ren) in summer activities that keep them accessing their learning. Join the Helen Plum Summer Reading Program. This is a great way to help your child keep all the literacy skills they have attained. Encourage your child(ren) to play games that involve thinking and solving. Ask them to write things for you such as shopping lists and messages, notes, invitations, or letters to family members and friends. Encourage them to engage in the books, packets, and websites their teachers have shared with them to use over the summer months. Let them demonstrate their new knowledge. This will help them to be successful as they begin next school year.
Finally, I hope every Park View family has a happy, healthy summer break. Take time to schedule fun activities as a family. Laugh together and enjoy the great outdoors - it's free. Go to fun museums and nature areas that have tours. Kids are naturally curious so use that to expand their background knowledge. The more they know about the world, the more successful they will be in school. Learning is good for their mental health too!!
Look for my next newsletter in early August. It is my main form of communication so be on the lookout for it. Also, don't miss the "Dates To Remember . . . ." at the end of this newsletter too! Enjoy your summer!!
WANTED - PARK VIEW VEGETABLE GARDENS - SUMMER CARETAKERS!!
The Park View vegetable gardens have been planted! We weren't able to get the garden club organized this year so I am reaching out to Park View families to take care of the garden again this summer.
