Hello Kipling Families,
Happy Friday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Despite some heartbreaks from the NCAA tournament, we had a great week here at Kipling. 2nd Grade definitely had a busy week. First they had their wonderful Music Performance on Wednesday and then some students from Ms. DiJohn’s class had the chance to share their nonfiction research projects at our Board of Education meeting last night. The students who participated at the Board Meeting were impressive, they were brave, and they demonstrated all the characteristics of a Kipling student: inquisitive, collaborative, caring, determined, and fun-at-heart.
Thank you for your partnership in our students’ education - it is such a joy to work with them each day.
All my best to you and your families over the weekend!
Mr. Matthew O. Lombardo, NBCT

5 Essentials Survey - We Need at Least 20% Parent Participation to Generate a Report. We are Currently at a 16% Completion Rate (WE ARE ALMOST THERE!).
Thank you to everyone who has submitted a survey. If you haven't yet, please consider doing so this weekend so our school can have a parent report. Thank you for your support!
Please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey to begin. Your identity and responses will be kept completely confidential and will not be connected to you or your child. The survey should take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete.
Students at Kipling in grades 3 through 5 will be participating in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) in English/Language Arts & Mathematics between April 4th and April 10th.
This state assessment helps us understand how students are growing academically year to year, while also providing an achievement comparison to grade-level peers across the state. By measuring both mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards and the College and Career Ready benchmarks of the PSAT and SAT, the IAR is also designed to help prepare students for success in high school and beyond. The overall performance of each school, by grade, also impacts our designation, which is reported on the Illinois School Report Card.
