Student/Parent Handbook - Our 2022/23 Student/Parent Handbook can be found at HANDBOOK.


Parent Portal - This resource is a web-based communication tool that allows parents/guardians secure access to view grades, assignments, and attendance information. Assignments and student performance can be viewed as soon as entries are made by teachers into their electronic grade books. Reports and email notifications are also available in the viewer. School Lunch - School Payments and Menus. You can add money to your child's school lunch account and check lunch menus by simply following this link: School Lunch


Parent/Teacher Communication - Parents are encouraged to communicate with their child's teacher through Class Dojo or by email. Please note, teachers are limited to the times they can respond to your messages during the school day, as they are busy teaching. If you have an emergency, kindly contact the office at 910-353-4443.   • January 16th - Holiday - no school
  • January 20th - Grading Period Ends
  • January 23rd & 24th - Work Days, no school for students
  • January 26th - Math Mania & STEM Night - 5-6:30
  • January 31st - Report Cards go home
  • February 3rd - Awards

Important Reminders

  • Bell rings at 8:25 am, students arriving after this time will need to check student in at the office (except buses that are late)
  • No check outs after 2:45 pm
  • Be sure your student's laptop is charged before coming to school

What you need to know about HCE Buses....

Onslow County Schools is currently experiencing bus driver shortages and they affect us here at Hunters Creek Elementary. We do not handle any bus changes or delays here at the school. This is handled by the bus garage. They are super at posting very early each morning any bus changes and delays and also posting any updates throughout the day.

What you need to know about school fees......

Great news! The only school fee for HCE this year is the Technology Fee, which covers the cost of your child's computer repairs and upkeep.

$25 Lap top


Unpaid fees will follow your child from school to school. Unpaid fees will prevent your child from attending prom and from graduating from high school.

It is far easier to pay each year than let the accumulate for 13 years (K-12).


If you are unable to pay all at once, you may also make payments. You can send in payments with your child and their teacher will provide a receipt (be sure to keep this receipt). Please let the teacher know it is for Student Fees.
