Clio Middle School
August 2021~Summer Edition
It's Almost Time to Head Back to School!
We are so excited to welcome students back to the new and improved Clio Middle School! When you return to school on September 7th, you will see many new and exciting updates. Our walls have been painted, some rooms have new flooring, and many rooms have changed locations. 6th-grade students will now attend classes on what was formerly known as the 7/8 grade side of the building. We are also welcoming 4th-grade students to the new Clio Intermediate Elementary, which is located in the old 5/6 side of the building. We have made lots of changes and there are many more to come! We have great things planned for CMS!

From the Principal
On behalf of the staff of Clio Middle School, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2021-2022 school year. One of the first changes you may notice about CMS is our name. We are now officially considered Clio Middle School. Across the district, there have been many updates, construction projects, and changes of student placements. CMS has also been part of some of these changes. CMS is now a sixth through eighth grade building. Although this was not our official time for renovations, we did get a few upgrades and updates to help us meet the growing needs of our students. We have had several of our classrooms remodeled or updated with fresh paint, flooring, and furniture. Please keep in mind that most of our bond projects are slated to happen throughout the next few years.
Unfortunately, we are still battling COVID. Please be patient and work with all of the buildings as we continue to move through these unprecedented times. Also, please remember that we do not make the mandates, but simply must follow the mandates of the health department. Mr. Spears has authored two specific letters concerning mandates and how they affect our school. With that, we will move forward and make this school year the best your child can have at CMS!
Clio Middle School students are entering a new and exciting time in their lives, and we welcome the opportunity to work with our parent partners in this educational experience. The middle school teachers and staff have been planning and preparing for this school year and are ready for students to return.
All of the staff here at Clio Middle School strive to work as a team, with parents, guardians, and students to create the best learning environment possible. Continuous communication and a true partnership between home and school is imperative to the success of our educational programs. As parents, we encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s education by talking to your child about school, volunteering whenever possible, and participating in our CMS PTO. We have a brand new PTO board this year, and they are ready to go. I would like to encourage every parent to help in some capacity with our PTO efforts. Volunteer for an athletic concessions game, help with a fundraiser, or simply support them with your donations. However you can help would be greatly appreciated by all of our students.
We look forward to joining each of you as we work to provide your students with the best possible education. We are sure that our parents and students will enjoy being part of this outstanding educational facility. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or me. Our annual Open House will be on Wednesday, September 1st from 6:30-7:30. Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 7th. Once again, welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. Let’s make it the best year yet! Go Mustangs.
