Historic Salisbury Foundation ~ October Tour

Saturday, Oct. 13th, 10am to Sunday, Oct. 14th, 5:30pm

Salisbury, NC, USA

Salisbury, NC

This tour has been hosted in Salisbury for 43 years and people come from all over to see our beautiful historic homes. The event is Saturday, October 13th 10am-5:30pm, and Sunday, October 14th 12:00pm-5:30pm.

Docents (guides) are needed in each room of each home on the tour. Dozens of volunteers help make this event possible.

The docent shifts are 3 hours each (and they are encouraged to come about 15 minutes before their shift). Docents may help check tickets at the door.

In-house docents are given a location (one or more rooms) and a very short script, often describing historic architectural details, antiques in the home, etc. Then they guide the group, which is usually limited in size, to the next room...and do it all again for the next group.

The Pedal Factory's Cranksgiving

Saturday, Nov. 10th, 9am-2pm

311 East Council Street

Salisbury, NC

The Pedal Factory will be hosting its first annual Cranksgiving event on November 10, 2018, joining other cities in NC, the US, and internationally (http://cranksgiving.org/.) Cranksgiving is a people powered food drive. While the main goal for Salisbury is to collect food, toiletries and other items for Rowan Helping Ministries (RHM), we also hope to foster and encourage members of the community to come together on bicycles in the spirit of the holidays.

*While there is no age limit, we will require that any child under the age of 16 be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. For any student under the age of 18, the parent(s) will have to sign the waiver that we will require of all participants.
