The Back Lot Off Dunham is Reserved - Including After School!

Please help us out by following the established pickup procedures for your students. The number of parents who are picking up students from our back lot area has caused significant issues so we are asking you to cease this practice immediately. We understand that pickup time is congested, but we have busses that need to get in and out, as well as staff who need to get to meetings and other commitments.

  • Bus riders will be picked up on the circle in front of the school or at the back of the school for some
  • Car pickup will take place at East High School
  • Walkers will depart at the bell
  • Parents should not be using the back lot as a pickup point

Thank you for your cooperation. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are at the forefront of this policy update.

Wredling Winter Orchestra Concerts

After the weather refused to cooperate and we had to cancel the Winter Orchestra Concerts TWICE, we held the concert today during the school day. Additionally, Mr. Pesek experienced an injury this week and was unable to conduct his own concert. Mr. Kovach stepped in as the conductor which everyone appreciated.

Our Wredling musicians all were great about being flexible, resilient, and cooperative under these unusual circumstances. They showed off their wonderful playing skills as each group played their own set of music. We are so proud of their efforts and their demonstration of how "the show must go on!" BRAVO!!!!

For the first time, we set up a live stream of the concerts for each grade level. Click the links below to view the concert:

Second Quarter Honor Roll

Congratulations to all of our RedHawks who worked hard throughout the second quarter of this school year. A special shout out goes to those who were able to achieve Honor Roll status by earning either all A's or all A's and B's. All A's are on one tab, AB's are on another! See the bottom of the page to switch tabs.

These students will be recognized on their teams, receive a ribbon, plus a treat from our fantastic PTO!

Note: We may some children who earn Honor Roll status but their name is not included on this list. This is because their parents have requested their children's names NOT be published, which includes being published as part of the Honor Roll here or in the newspapers. Changes to this request can be made either in the Home Access Center or with Student Services.

Jarrett Payton to Present to 8th Graders!

Jarrett Payton, son of the late, great, Walter Payton, will be visiting Wredling on March 5, 2019, to share his anti-bullying program with our 8th Graders. Jarrett is a sports anchor on WGN who brings positive energy to his craft. We are so excited to have him join us and share his message with our students. Special thanks go out to our PTO for covering the costs of this program!

HOPE Week at Wredling

The week started off with window painting! Words of encouragement were painted on our foyer windows. Happiness and hope are both a huge part of HOPE week here at Wredling because they are GREATER THAN the hard things in life. Our HOPE Club also chose special songs to play each morning along with a message shared to inspire all of us to choose how we spend our moments. They were:

  • Monday - Happier (Marshmello)
  • Tuesday - A Little Too Much (Shawn Mendes)
  • Wednesday - Have It All (Jason Mraz)
  • Thursday - High Hopes (Panic! At the Disco)
  • Friday - Never Give Up (Sia)

Change to Academic Calendar

Due to having 4 snow days, WREDLING will be changing the date for the end of the third quarter to April 5. This will allow us to balance the number of days between the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Here are the updated dates:

  • April 5 - End of the 3rd quarter
  • April 8 - Start of the 4th quarter
  • April 12 - 3rd quarter grades are posted to HAC

The rotations for PE/Health will remain unchanged.

Middle School Transfer Requests

Families who wish to submit Middle School Transfer requests may do so beginning February 4. This request form will be available on the District 303 website through February 28. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want to be transferred. Requests are granted based on space available so siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.

Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.

Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance are responsible for their own transportation.

Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.

Attention 8th Grade Parents:

On February 20th and 21st, all 8th-grade students will have their vision screened in accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health's school code. If you have submitted a vision exam from your child's eye doctor in the last year, we will use those results rather than screen your child. If your child has had a recent eye exam but you have not yet turned it into the Health Office please send it in so that we can use those results and include the exam in your child's health file. Please make sure your child has his eyeglasses with him at school on these screening dates. Thank you for your assistance in this process.
