Reminders:
Birthday Treats: At Rockwell we still want the students to be able to celebrate their birthdays. Birthday treats are allowed as long as they are individually wrapped and store bought (i.e. Little Debbie's, Rice Krispie Treats, Fruit By The Foot, ect). Please check with your child's teacher regarding allergies.
Lunch/Classroom Visitors: We really miss having our parents and volunteers in the building, however, we still are not allowed to have visitors. As soon as this is lifted, we will welcome you back with open arms (from 6 feet away) and following all other safety measures.
K-5 Halloween Parent Planning Zoom Meeting
With the Covid-19 guidelines in place, there are a couple of things to think of when planning the Halloween parties:
-We will not be able to have parent volunteers in the school to help with the parties. The classroom teachers will be conducting the games/activities.
-We are looking for activities that allow for social distancing, such as bingo, hangman, individual baggie crafts, etc.
-Refreshments will need to be store bought and individually wrapped.
-If you're sending party favors (goodie bags), please try to plan for the entire grade level to keep parties equitable.

Rockwell Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences
Rockwell Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13, from 4:15-8:00 p.m and Wednesday, October 14, 1:00-4:15 p.m.
This year, our conferences will be held virtually via zoom. Parents/guardians will be signing up for a 20 minute time period using "Synergy ParentVUE" website to meet with your child's teacher . We will open the sign up window on Friday, September 25th, at 8:00 a.m..
Parents/guardians will simply log in to ParentVue website and choose an available time slot with your child's teacher.(See handout for complete instructions).
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1als7L35btsUQonlJl9l41Y19KKr7w4YspaA5wMl6jsY/edit?usp=sharing
We will start and end conferences every 20 minutes. When it’s time for your conference, we encourage you to sign in to the zoom a couple of minutes early and wait in the digital “waiting room”. Teachers will admit parents into the Zoom conference after they have signed off the previous conference.
Parents/guardians are still encouraged to visit specialty teachers either before or after your scheduled teacher conference time, just as you have done in the past. These teachers will have a separate link that will be open during the conference hours. We will send out these Zoom links after October 7th.
If your child sees a Resource, Speech, or Literacy teacher, you will receive information from them about conference times and Zoom links.
If your student is in the Alternate Curriculum Program, please select both the ACP teacher and the homeroom teacher at the same time slot. This will allow both teachers to attend the conference.
You may begin making appointments via “ParentVue” on Friday, September 25th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The window to schedule an appointment will close on October 7th at 5:00 p.m.
The sign up seems to work best when visiting ParentVue on the website, not the app.
If you do not have access to a computer, missed the window to sign up for conferences, or if you have questions, please contact Mrs. Chrissy Reitmajer at 402-715-8246 or at chreitmajer@mpsomaha.org between 8:00-4:00 on school days.
