HITEON HIGHLIGHTS NEWSLETTER
April 9, 2019
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Hiteon Families,
In the world of education, spring time can bring added stress for staff and students alike. For staff, we begin to learn about budget reductions, staff placements, and changes in staffing based on school enrollment numbers. We begin to plan for next year, while maintaining and finishing our work this year. For grade 3-5 students, students begin preparing for upcoming state assessments in May. Students begin to think about the conclusion of the current year and the transition to the next grade. The thought of change can be hard.
To help counter the stress that spring can bring, Hiteon staff has committed to intentionally “sprinkle joy” this spring. Be kind. Smile. Perform a good deed. Compliment someone. Find joy in the faces of our students. Laugh. Those are ways in which we can grow positivity. We appreciate our supportive community who partners with us every day and also helps us sprinkle joy at Hiteon. We encourage you to find joy in the little things as well. You will quickly find that it becomes contagious.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Spring Conferences this week. If you have not signed up yet, please reach out to your child’s teacher as soon as possible to do so. They are finalizing schedules today and tomorrow. As a reminder, there is no school this Thursday or Friday due to conferences.
Sincerely,
Meghan Warren, Principal
