Principal's Message
Greetings Mountain View Community,
I hope this message finds you all well. May the upcoming Winter Break offer you and your family time to restore and connect.
Remember to keep reading and talking about your reading. Ms. Robinette has gathered some great resources in her Guide to Reading (links accessible through the grey button below). Two of my favorite middle school reads from this year are: Stamped by Jason Reynolds & Ibram X. Kendi, and Once Upon a Time I lived on Mars by Kate Greene.
In addition to reading, my other advice is to stay connected to others. Text your friends whom you have not seen for a while. Our daily lives used to include these spontaneous meetings, catching up, a hug, a connection. For some of us, these connections keep us afloat and are deeply missed.
I eagerly await the day that we can all gather again to celebrate our youth, learn together, and build our community through interactions.
How do you stay afloat right now? What are your intentions for the final weeks of 2020?
Stay well.
Honored to Serve This Community,
Wendy Rider
