May 12th, 2023

From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
We had a great week celebrating teacher appreciation week. Thank you to the parents who celebrated their child's teacher this week. We are very lucky to have the teachers and staff who work so hard serving your children.
Spirit wear was sent home today. Make sure to check your child's bag. A few items are still being shipped like the MQS socks and Nike Visors. Please let us know if you did not receive an item, and there was not a note on the order form.
Seton Catholic Schools is hosting an Art and Music Festival at Pius High School on May 24. Please see below for more details. Tickets must be purchased in advance through Pius.
In Christ-
Mr. Lee
Drop off and Breakfast Procedures
Moving forward, breakfast and drinks (not including water bottles) will need to be consumed before leaving the breakfast eating area. We are seeing an uptick of coffee or sugary drinks being brought into the school and going to the areas where homerooms gather. Students who are bringing drinks not in a water bottle will be asked to stay in the breakfast area until the drink is finished. All unfished drinks will be asked to be dumped out before going to the classroom. In addition, students that take a breakfast will be required to eat the breakfast during the breakfast time in the hall, no food will be allowed to go into the classroom from breakfast.
This change is the result of drinks and food messes in the hall, and during the transition from the hall to the classrooms. We have gym classes that start right at 8:00am. We do not have lot of resources to clean up on time.

Seton Value: Transformation
Saint of the Week: The Ascension of the Lord
Virtue of the Week: Urgent
Feast Day:
Scripture of the Week:
Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. Romans 13:11
Prayer of the Week:
Heavenly Father, we gather together and come into agreement in the wonderful and powerful Name of Jesus Christ. Where two or more are gathered there You’ll be in the midst of us and anything we agree upon as touching You will surely do. Father, we place their priorities in front of You right now. If there is anything we need to change, we will change it. Help us to live a life in which our priorities are balanced in Your sight. A life where we invest not only in the present but also in eternity that is to come. Life is about the here and now but it is also about eternity. What is done here on earth affects Heaven. Amen.
After School Camp Last Day May 30th
Due to staffing shortages, and the end of the school year responsibilities of teachers, the last day of after school camp will be May 30th. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause families. Unfortunately with it being the end of the school year, we are finding it tough to hire a person for afterschool camp.

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
