December-February 2020-2021

Dear Families,

We have made it to our Winter Break. All of our students and staff really deserve this time off to rest, relax, and enjoy life. Although this COIVD-19 remains very real in our lives, there are so many things you can do while remaining safe. Go on a walk, go to the beach, a nature hike, just a couple of ideas on things you can do to get outside and still maintain social distancing and enjoy life. I am looking forward to seeing everyone back on January 5th to start off 2021 with a positive attitude.

Thank you for sticking with me and working together to keep our students, staff, and families safe. Please have a happy and safe holiday and a wonderful New Year. See you in 2021!

2021-2022 Lottery Open Now

It's that time of year! If your student has a sibling that needs to enroll for next year, please be sure to enter them in our lottery by February 28th. Also, let your friends, family, and neighbors who may be interested in our school know to go onto our website and apply for next year as well.

REMINDER: if your student already attends Franklin Academy, you do not need to reapply. Early into next year, we will send out the Intent to Return form and parents will kindly fill that out to secure their seat for the following school year.

i-Ready

In January we will have our 2nd diagnostic assessment for iReady for all students in K-8th grade. We need this data to be accurate and we are looking for growth from the first one. If your child is taking it at home, please let them work alone and at their own speed, so that we know it is authentic. As parents, we have a tendency to want to help, but that will not be beneficial in the long run. Once they take the diagnostic, lessons will be provided based on how they progressed. We want the lessons to match where the student is, so that they continue to make gains.
