The Weekly Update #4

All of our winter sports teams had great seasons, but our boys basketball team was amazing. They completed their undefeated season by winning the Troy Basketball Tournament. Congratulations to our boys team and Coach Wilson!

Thank you to all of your support and generous donations. South Middle was able to support 6 WSD families this year during the holiday season with overflowing household supply baskets and multiple games for family fun nights!

End of 2nd Quarter Early Release on Friday, 1/13. SMS dismissal will be two hours early and 12:20 PM.

NO SCHOOL - Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, 1/16.

NO SCHOOL - Professional Development for SMS Staff on Tuesday, 1/17.

As part of the WSD’s ongoing efforts to meet the goals within the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), district surveys will be administered to students in grades K-12, families, and staff. The surveys are designed to solicit feedback about the sense of belonging created within each building as well as perspectives regarding building/department culture. Each school and department within the district will use this survey data to understand the current reality and to make improvements moving forward.

Families may begin taking the survey starting Jan. 4, by clicking here. The survey will remain open through Jan. 20.

The district windows for students to take the surveys are Jan. 30-Feb. 10 and May 1-19.
