Odd Boy Out
Book Review
Summary
Odd Boy Out, by Don Brown, tells the life story of Albert Einstein. Growing up, people worried he was dumb. They believed he'd get nowhere in life because he ignored school and didn't talk. But behind closed doors, Albert was a math genius and loved music. He was amazed by simple things like compasses, and enjoyed geometry. He came up with new formulas so deep into math, he earned a Nobel Prize. To us, that just means T. V. or space travel, but Albert was so brilliant, adult teachers couldn't understand him anymore. No one knew what the boy could really do!
The Message
This story shows that everyone has special qualities... Albert Einstein was a genius, but because he ignored school, no one saw it. Just because someone is different doesn't mean they are stupid or weird.
Review
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a story with a message, and likes to learn. You learn about a very well known man, and how he lived, while also realizing everyone is special. People excell in different things!
