Toongabbie West Public School
Term 3, Week 8 2021
Principal's Report
As the local government area of Parramatta continues to be under the stay at home order, I would like to thank our school community for your efforts and support in keeping your children at home during this online learning period.
The NSW Health advice remains the same that parent/carers are strongly encouraged to keep their children at home if you are working from home, unless you are an essential worker and must attend work onsite.
Over the weeks, the staff have been constantly working hard to ensure students continue their learning online. The dedication and collaboration among all the staff makes me very lucky to be the proud Principal of Toongabbie West Public School.
Class Zoom Sessions
It was wonderful to see and introduce myself to the students during our first Class Zoom sessions last week. The students seemed very happy with the Zoom sessions as most have not seen other students and their teacher for the past 7 weeks.
I would like to commend the students on their respectful and safe behaviour during these Zoom sessions.
There will be more Class Zoom sessions scheduled weekly for the remainder of this term. The upcoming Zoom meeting details will be on your child’s Google Classroom, keeping in mind that the day and time may change every week.
If you experience any problems with the Zoom session, please send an email to toongabwst-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au and it will be forwarded to your child’s class teacher. Calls to the school during the Zoom session cannot be forwarded to the teacher as they will be hosting their Class Zoom session.

Get into the Great Indoors!
Did you know something as simple and fun as ‘play’ provides many health benefits?
Play can relieve stress, boost learning, connect you to others, and also make your work more productive and enjoyable.
Why not build some play into your day, and get the family active at home?
Here’s an easy game to get started:
Do you remember “Stuck in the mud”? You can play this indoors or in your yard.
Nominate a “tagger”, who chases the other players. When a player is “tagged”, they become “stuck in the mud”! They can’t move and must stand with their legs and arms apart.
The only way to be freed from the “mud” is for a non-tagged player to crawl between their legs. And then the chasing continues!
A great way to work up your heart rate and have some family fun.
