REAL QUICK:
What an exciting afternoon we had Friday with LaDonna Gatlin! Thank you for the positive feedback regarding her visit. She could NOT have been more impressed with you, & I hope her visit & message gave you a lift!
Our DI teams represented us very well on Saturday in Red Oak. The Vicious Swaggy Leopards won first place & beat out 17 other teams I am told! My thanks to Drew & Kelli for attending & if more of our teachers attended that I did not see, thank you for going to support our kiddos! It always means a great deal to families to have you at significant events like that to support the most important people in their lives. Tuesday night our EME choir will perform at Wayside at 7PM. I hope you will consider going to hear them. Leslie does such a magnificent job with them!
This is Texas Public Schools Week & we will have our annual Open House on Thursday night from 6-7 PM. Everyone is expected to attend.
Important Information this week!

· When you are sending home benchmark results to parents, please make sure you are using the new benchmark letter the district created.
· We are working on your March calendar & will have that to you tomorrow.
· Next week we will have important benchmark testing.
· This is Becky Jackson’s last week with us in first grade as Bethany Miller will return next week from maternity leave. Becky has done an amazing job for us & we are grateful for her service to EME. NOTEABLE QUOTABLES:
SHOUT OUT!
- Our thanks to Regina & Kelli for the detailed planning that went into planning last week’s Literacy Night. It was a great night & the amount of planning that went into it was evident.
- Kudos (again!) to Donna McBride & Cathy Wells for the excellent interview they gave to CBS 11 about LIINK last week. I thought it was one of the best pieces/features we’ve had all year. I hope you had the opportunity to see it. LOTS of amazing things going on with our LIINK program, & it will be exciting to see the program expand to a few other schools in our district next year.
- We want to give a Shout-Out to all of you who completed your TELPAS training & calibrations. Thanks for the time you put into that task!
- A special thanks to Andrea Reed for cutting out & laminating our vocabulary words. She always goes above & beyond to make sure we get our words out in time & is SUCH a great help to us! Way to go Andrea!
- I appreciate the lengths Drew has gone to to provide support for a family in need. Drew does a great job of obtaining resources – many of which are done quietly & discreetly behind the scene.
- Finally, a heart-felt thanks to all of you for making my mother feel so welcome when she visited our school on Thursday. She went on & on about nice everyone was & the warmth evident in our school. She was very impressed with you! So, thank you! People really do notice the kind of environment we have - & that does not happen by accident!
