Park Terrace Elementary
March 2, 2022 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Elementary!
I hope everyone is having a great start to the week! It is so hard to believe but we are rapidly approaching the end of Trimester 2. The final day of the trimester is March 10. There is no school March 11-21. Students return on March 22 to start the final trimester of the school year! Where has the time gone?
At the start of each school day at Park Terrace, every homeroom class hosts a morning meeting. Students gather around for a greeting, a sharing and an activity. It is a wonderful opportunity to build community, learn about classmates, announce any important events for the day and make sure the day starts off on a great note.
This year, we have held an all school morning meeting via WebEx once a month which allows every class to participate in the same meeting. It has been so fun to see everyone engaging in the same greeting, answering the same questions and participating in the same activity. Hopefully in addition to being fun it will allow our school wide community to develop even more as students get to see into other classes! I am so glad we have started been doing these all school morning meetings in addition to our normal meetings this year and I hope our students have enjoyed it too!
Here are a couple of reminders for families as we move into the spring:
- Spring Break: There is no school during Spring Break, March 11-21
- Grades/Report Cards: Trimester 2 grades will be available on the Campus Parent Portal on March 25
- Picture day: Spring pictures will be held on Wednesday, March 30.
- Face masks: If you would like your student to wear a face mask at school, please send one (and send a spare, too) from home. We are no longer supplying students with masks at school
Have a wonderful rest of the week, Panthers! Let’s finish this trimester strong by working hard while also taking the time to enjoy this lovely and warm weather!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
Principal
Thank you for supporting Panthers for a Purpose
The Panther Foundation’s annual fundraising event returned this year with a Week of Giving and Panther Party that raised more than $120,000 to support activities and programs benefiting the students of Spring Lake Park Schools.
The Week of Giving, February 21-26, was full of panther pride. There were themed spirit wear days, dine to donate opportunities in partnership with local restaurants, a silent auction with more than 350 packages open for bidding and the culminating event of the week - the Panther Party. Watch the special message of thanks below and read the recap.
