A Note from the Interim Principal
There is no denial that Advent is in full-swing at Holy Family Catholic School! Three candles were lit for our morning prayer assembly today. Beautifully decorated trees are spread throughout our campus. Christmas carols can be heard from Mrs. Rians’ classroom. Religion instruction is focused on the anticipation of Christ. The countdown to Christmas (and I think maybe a break from school) is on! :)
I’m sure your homes are like mine. Christmas cards went out. Stockings are hung. The number of Advent calendar windows remaining are decreasing. The Elf on the Shelf moves nightly. Excitement is in the air. My four children can’t wait for Christmas and all the fun and family time that comes with this holy day. Our newest son, 3-year-old Joey, will experience his first Christmas with us this year. (We brought him home from China in February.) I cannot wait to watch the celebration of Jesus’ birthday through his eyes this year.
May your Christmas break be a time of making wonderful memories and sharing the joy of the birth of Christ who comes to save us all --- from the innocence of a manger.

Annual Appeal Christmas Spirit Day
Don’t forget that this Friday, all who have contributed to the Annual Appeal this year may wear Christmas attire and accessories along with their uniform “bottoms” (pants, skirts, jumpers) and shoes. This includes Christmas shirts, socks, bows, jewelry, etc. Guidelines in the Family Handbook for out-of-uniform dress will be followed. As always, please use your good judgment. Nothing should be worn that could be distracting to the learning or teaching process. Teachers and administration have the final call on any potentially distracting holiday wear.
Thanks to all who have given. Special kudos to Mrs. Szostek's 2nd grade class who, to date, has the highest percentage of giving to the Annual Appeal at 81%!!
Christmas Musical 2015
A big thank you to Mrs. Christen Rians and all of our students for an awesome Christmas Musical last week showcasing the many musical talents of our students in all grades. Job well done, Holy Family! And thanks for all who helped make this event such a success!
Second Grade Service Field Trip
Mrs. Szostek’s 2nd grade class wishes to thank everyone who generously donated money to support the SVDP Angel Tree project. In all, more than $530 was raised to support this very important service project.
On Friday afternoon, the class donned Santa hats and reindeer antlers as they put their faith into action and shopped for the two children selected from the angel tree. Warm clothing, shoes and socks and toys were purchased. Parent chaperones and students alike were filled with the Christmas spirit.
“I felt joyful and proud because I was buying things for those less fortunate,” said Jude Pierce.
We were all happy to share the gifts that God has given us with others. Thank you for helping us make this possible!
