The Bulldog Bark
Here at South we know that being a good human being is just as important as getting excellent grades. Building strong relationships is vital in every aspect of life. Employers always tell us, “Give me someone with a great attitude, a kind spirit and a solid attendance record.” Our staff works to teach our students these social skills which are key to a successful life.
The following are what we call the “Essential 10” and they are taught every day at SMS:
SMS Essential 10 (adapted from Ron Clark)

SMS Mock Election
As part of our desire to encourage our students to become well informed citizens we, as a Social Studies Department, are going to host a South Mock Election. In the days leading up to Election Day, we will discuss the American political process and who is running for what offices. The election will take place November 6th and every student will have their chance to cast their ballot for the election during their Social Studies class. Results of the election will be announced prior to leaving school that day.
