This week, we're celebrating all things literary with our Book Week, bringing a wide range of fun games, activities and events devoted to reading and books in general - all of which is set to culminate with the excitement of the Book Character Parade tomorrow!
I'd like to sincerely thank our dynamic library duo, Amanda and Viv, for their hard work putting together so many engaging opportunities for the children (and staff!) to enjoy, all in the name of promoting the long-standing enthusiasm for reading that continues to be such a defining feature of our school!
A reminder that school is closed on Monday, 23 October for Labour Day, and also for the scheduled Curriculum Teacher Only Day on Monday, 13 November.
Enjoy the long weekend, with hopes for some decent weather!

****** NEWSFLASH - DANCE AT SCHOOL DURING LUNCHTIME - NEWSFLASH ******
We' re excited to announce that Helen A Dance Tuition, is bringing SCHOOL LUNCHTIME DANCE CLASSES to MT EDEN NORMAL SCHOOL for students to enjoy in 2024!
These classes are designed to cater for the "Busy Parent" to allow their child to get their regular Dance Class during School Hours! You do not have to find the time after school or during the weekends - for the parent with multiple children - the hard work is done for you, no extra travel and your child can dance with their friends from school, in the safe, caring School environment.
These classes have run for the past 5 years in West Auckland Schools and the feedback has been nothing but positive, from very grateful parents, who have seen their children excited to go to school as its "Dance Day!” - more often than not, coming home and demonstrating all their fabulous moves they have learnt at Lunchtime! A warning….. be prepared for the dance displays at home or around the neighbourhood! These classes are designed for all ages and abilities, Boys and Girls and they are not exam orientated.
With this being new to Mt Eden Normal School, I am taking enrolments NOW for the Beautiful Ballet Class and the Funky Jazz Hop (Jazz & Hip Hop mix) Class.
In 2024, we will hold both of these classes for the students - these classes will fill up very quickly. Beautiful Ballet will take part on Wednesdays and Funky Jazz Hop on Fridays.
They will run every term of the School year. Cost per term is $150.
Your child comes to the Hall at Lunchtime, and gets a 50 minute fun filled dance session.
FREE TASTER session on THURSDAY 2ND NOVEMBER on offer for those who want to try ....
1.00pm BEAUTIFUL BALLET AND AT 1.30pm FUNKY JAZZ HOP.
If you would like your child to take Part in the FREE TASTER please email me today their
Full name, Room Number and your phone number so they can take part. This will fill up very quickly so do not delay. What a fantastic way to get a taster before the 2024 year start!
Please email me on helenadancet@gmail.com with the following -
I would like to enrol for the TASTER CLASS THIS year - provide student name, room number and mobile.
I would like to ENROL NOW for 2024 classes.
Your Child’s Name, DOB, Address, Contact Number and their school room number (for this year).
Which style they would like to be enrolled in for 2024
I will then reply via email to you with more information and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
The School Admin team DO NOT take enrolments for these sessions, so please deal directly with me. These classes will fill very quickly to get in today to be first on the list!
I am so excited to meet and work with your child, developing their LOVE of dance
and creating a magical time for them in the middle of their School Day.
