IB Update:
Our 5th grade students are working on their Exhibition projects, which are the culminating capstone inquiry projects in the IB Primary Years Programme. The Exhibition for Vista Academy will take place on May 24th, 5:30 - 6:30, in our gym. In this photo, a group of students are interviewing the director of a non-profit organization in the Czech Republic who is working with Ukrainian refugees. It was an incredible experience for our students to connect globally around this current event.

IB Evaluation Visit:
We are excited to share the final report from our recent IB Evaluation visit. The findings were very positive. Our IB PYP program showed development beyond the requirements or notable development in all IB standards and practices.
School Tours:
School tours will take place every Thursday from 3:00- 3:45pm. The tours will consist of a brief overview of our IB Primary Years Programme and arts integration, a short video of our students in action since we are not allowed to have parents in classrooms with students yet, and visits to see classrooms, arts rooms, and other spaces throughout the campus. There will also be time to ask any questions you might have. Please call the office if you are interested in being part of a school tour.
Additional Information:
If you have any questions about our IB program, please reach out to our IB coordinator, Sharon Scott-Gonzalez at sharonscott-gonzalez@vistausd.org

At Home Art Connections:
Vista Under the Stars Performance at Moonlight Ampitheatre
Our Annie Conservatory students have been working hard and are looking forward to their performance at the Vista Under the Stars district showcase. Please come watch our students perform at the Moonlight Ampitheatre on April 13th. Admission is free and the gates open at 5pm for general seating. The show starts at 6pm. We hope to see you there!
We are excited that all students will have the opportunity to see the Annie Conservatory performance during their regular school day. Not only is this a wonderful opportunity to see their peers perform, but it is a great chance for our performers to be in front of a live audience. K-2 saw the show on Friday and 3-5 will see it this week. Ask your student about the show and find out what they learned, thought and wonder.

ELAC Meeting:
We are meeting IN PERSON this coming Monday, April 18th @ 12:30pm thirty minutes before dismissal!
What topics would you like discussed at our next parent workshop?
What are the needs of our English Language Learners at VAPA?

We hope to see you at our upcoming ELAC meeting this Monday, April 18, 2022 at 12:30pm IN PERSON in the PAC!
