We must show courage when faced with obstacles
The theme, we must show courage when faced with obstacles, is shown throughout The Diary of Anne Frank. Anne shows courage when she went into hiding (381). " It's the silence in the night that frightens me the most " (381). This shows courage because although Anne is scared, she continues on. Another example of courage is Miep & Mr. Kraler helping the families in the annex. Anne writes, " If the Nazis found out they were hiding us... They would suffer the same fate we would " (381). Mr. Kraler & Miep show courage because they do not have to help & be in harms way, but they do because it's the right thing to do. The final example of courage in The Diary of Anne Frank is when they are found by the Green Police, the play reads " she is no longer a child, but a women with courage to meet whatever lies ahead " (433). This shows that Anne has courage to face what comes next. These are example of now we need courage when faced with obstacles.
We must have Faith to remember who we are
The theme, we must have faith to remember who we are, is shown in The Diary of Anne Frank. Anne shows faith when the families celebrate Hannakah. " There's a lot more, songs & presents " (402). This shows faith because even though the families are going through a hard time they can still celebrate their religion. Another example of faith is remembering the heroic macabre ( oil in lamp lasted 8 days ). " I remember particularly the candles... First, one as we have tonight. Then, the second night, you light 2 candles, the next night three... & so on until you have eight candles, it is truly beautiful " (403). This shows faith because they never give up, they keep their memories to help them move on through day, through day & forget about what's really happening in reality. The final example is Anne thinks people are still good at heart. " I know it's a terrible, trying to have any faith... But I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are really good at heart " (431). Anne knows it's not easy having faith in this terrible time... But she still believes if someone or something didn't treat hitler or people in general, bad maybe life could be better.
Margot is like a mouse
Margot is like a mouse because she is very quite & intelligent. Mice are very smart, you can teach a mouse tricks & how to behave in an environment. Margot is told to be very quite, don't speak when your not asked to speak, Margot had to act like a lady. Margot could never speak your mind to anyone, because the moment she spoke her mind to someone they might get the wrong idea about her. Mice can learn to live in different places, they know how to get food, they know how to depend on them self to get food or water. Margot mostly depended on herself because she had nobody else to count on but herself.......
