Ludwig Ledger
September 2022
We're off and running to another great school year here at Ludwig! Students are back to following normal schedules and routines, eating in the cafeteria, and participating in small group instruction with their peers. We're excited to see all the academic progress that our scholars will make this year!
It was wonderful to see so many families attend our in-person open house event at the end of August. The positive partnerships that we create with our parents and guardians helps to keep our students on-track with their education. We look forward to welcoming our families back into the school, for a variety of functions and events, during the 2022/2023 school year!
Fall FastBridge benchmarking, in the areas of ELA and Math, is in the process of wrapping up at Ludwig. The data collected from our triannual benchmarking assessments will guide teachers in ensuring that all students are receiving the proper academic supports here at school. Please continue to encourage your child to give his/her best on all schoolwork, homework, projects, and assessments. We know all of our students are up for the challenge!
As always, thank you for partnering with us in supporting your child's education. If you need anything moving forward, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or to Ludwig's main office.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kulik
Updates and Reminders:
* Patriot Day - Patriot Day is Sunday, September 11th. All Ludwig students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to school on Friday, September 9th, in observance of this national holiday.
* Club 92 - Club 92 programming begins soon at Ludwig School! An informational flyer with more information has been sent home and it can also be found online in our virtual backpack. As always, you must have an account set up with the Park District to join these clubs. All registration needs to be completed by the day before the club starts. No late registrations will be taken. For the fall session, clubs include: Mix It Up Sports, Fantasy Football Fan Club, Art Club, Craft Club, Pickleball Club, Gaming Club, Trivia Club, and Dance Club.
* Principal's 200 Club - When students are caught making a good choice and have gone above and beyond in the classroom, they may receive a "Golden Ticket" from a Ludwig staff member. When this happens, we celebrate! Students get to ring a cowbell in the main office, sign Ludwig's Celebrity Book, put their name on the Principal's 200 Club bulletin board outside the main office, and get their name highlighted on the announcements. Thank you for continuing to encourage your child to follow our school expectations: Be Safe, Be Caring, Be Respectful, and Be Here/Ready.
* Band - Our 5th grade band students have identified their instruments of choice and have started participating in after-school band practice and in-school sectional lessons. This is an exciting time and opportunity for our 5th graders. Please double check to ensure your child knows what days he/she has to bring their instrument to school. Developing a practice routine at home and designating a practice location can also be helpful. We're looking forward to seeing our resident musicians make great gains throughout the year!
