February 2024
MISSION: IGNITING A PASSION FOR LEARNING
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,
As we start the month of February, we have a few things to share with you:
Gratitude Challenge: This month, we invite you and your family to participate in a special Gratitude Challenge. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, taking a moment each day to reflect on something we are grateful for can be a powerful practice. It could be a small joy, a kind gesture, or a cherished memory. Cultivating gratitude not only enhances our well-being but also strengthens the bonds within our families. We encourage you to share these moments of gratitude with your children, fostering a positive and uplifting atmosphere at home. We will be doing the same at school!
Mid-Trimester Check-In: We are now midway through the trimester, and it's an opportune time to check in on your child's academic progress. Take a moment to review their grades, assignments, and any feedback from teachers. If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the respective teachers.
Encourage your child to reflect on their academic goals and offer your guidance to help them finish the trimester strong. Whether it's discussing study habits, setting realistic goals, or seeking additional assistance if needed, your involvement plays a crucial role in their educational journey.
Professional Development Day - February 19: A reminder that on February 19, there will be no school for students due to a scheduled professional development day.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Wishing you and your family a wonderful February filled with gratitude, academic achievement, and joy.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Skelton

From the Desk of the School Counselor, Mrs. Weber
Hello KMS Community!
As the weeks have gone by and my comfort level continues to grow, I am feeling grateful for all of the support I have received from the KMS Community. I have been meeting with students and staff to increase my knowledge and understanding of our school community.
I want to continue my efforts by offering students another way to connect with me. Starting the week of January 29th, students will be able to request a meeting with me by simply using the Google app located on their Google Launchpad named, “Counseling request with Mrs. Weber.” An image of the app is included at the bottom of this message. When students access the app, it will take them to a site where they can pick a date and time, include some additional information about their request, and submit the request to meet. After a request has been made, the appointment time will show up on their Google calendar. I am hoping this proves to be an efficient way for students to request a meeting with me.
Please feel free to share this information to encourage connections with me!
Thank you,
Mrs. Weber
