Harrison Happenings
December 1-5
This week in Room 300...
Welcome back!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This week we are continuing to learn our letter sounds with letters P and Q. We have three new sight words: but, not, look. Please continue to review those words at home as students are expected to know all first and second nine week words for their report card.
In math, students will learn 3D shapes, as well as learn how to model them.
We are very excited for the upcoming holidays, and we will be doing lots of fun activities over the next 3 weeks as we prepare for Christmas!
Class Picture Day
You should have received a notice a couple of weeks ago, but tomorrow (Wednesday) is our class picture day! We put stickers on the students today as a reminder. Dress them in their school best for a great picture! :)
Elf on the Shelf
We have a new class member in our room for the next couple of weeks! He has already delivered a string of lights and candy to our class! Our class chose to name him Sprinkle, and he is an elf from the North Pole. He reports our behavior back to Santa every night. Unfortunately, if we do not have the best behavior, Sprinkle has to take a day off. We are hoping that Sprinkle will only have great things to say about us to Santa this year! :)
Reminders
- Please continue to practice the following skills daily: sight words, counting to 100, counting by 10s to 100, and letter sounds.
- Please send a jacket with your child everyday, and be sure that they dress in long sleeves and pants as the weather gets cooler. We want them to be able to go outside for recess, but we cannot send them if they will not be warm.
- Picture day tomorrow, 12/3
- If you are able, our class is in need of some more play dough. Donations are always appreciated!! :)
