Summer Update to Parents
Message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the summer break. I understand that you have many questions and are anxiously awaiting information about our reopening plan. Please know the Interboro School District team is working hard to develop a plan that ensures all students and staff return to a safe and healthy learning environment in September.
Our administrators are working with our teachers, support staff, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Chester County Health Department, and our Crozer Healthcare Team to create a balanced plan that will provide continuity of education while maintaining a safe learning environment - all within the constraints of budget, logistical feasibility, and in adherence to the guidelines provided by our government and local health authorities. Please remember that we are required to follow all reopening guidelines set forth by our government and health officials, so these plans may change in response to such guidance.
On Monday, July 13th, at the virtual Work Session beginning at 7:00 pm, the administrative team will be presenting an overview of our re- opening plan to the Interboro Board of School Directors. The Zoom link will be available on the website on Monday if you are interested in joining the meeting.
On Tuesday, July 14th, parents will be receiving a link to a survey on student academic models, student safety, and transportation. Please be sure to participate in this survey. We greatly appreciate your feedback as it will help guide our decisions and planning for September.
There will be a special meeting of the Interboro Board of School Directors on July 29th for the Board to approve the District’s Health and Safety Plan, academic plan for the 20-21 school year, and the PreK- 12 Athletic Health and Safety Plan.
Reopening Information will be communicated to parents no later than August 3rd.
Please continue to check the website for information!
Interboro Cyber Learning
Keeping Our Students Connected!
Families that would prefer to keep their children home have the opportunity to participate in the Interboro cyber learning plan. This is not the remote learning that we experienced this past spring. Interboro will be providing an online learning environment for students in grades kindergarten through twelve. Taught by PA-certified, Interboro teachers trained in online education, our cyber learning model will maintain the same rigor and engagement as Interboro’s in-person instruction with the added flexibility of the online environment. Interboro’s cyber learning plan follows the same curriculum and/or standards that are being taught in the school building, allowing students to return to the physical classroom at appropriate transition points.
If you are concerned about returning to school and in-person instruction, I ask that you please consider our cyber learning plan and reach out to us to discuss your family’s individual needs. Every time a child moves to a charter or cyber charter school, it costs the district between $14,000 - $34,000, which, has significant impact on our school district. We will do all that we can to support and accommodate your child’s needs. No matter what model you choose for your child (ren) we want our Interboro students and families to stay connected!

High School Athletics Update
The District would like to welcome Miss Lisa Ford, as our new Athletic Director/Assistant Principal at the high school. Miss Ford is a proud Interboro alum and we are excited to have her join the administrative team. Miss Ford comes to us with 23 years of educational and athletic experience. She joined us on July 1st and has "hit the ground running," preparing for our student athletes to return to voluntary practices on July 20th.
Thank you to Mr. Ed Kloss for his dedication to our students and athletics program! We wish him the best of luck, as he returns to the classroom, to teach middle school social studies at Glenolden School.
