A Word from the Principal… Ms. Ramirez — April 2021
April 21, 2021
Dear Hollydale Families,
We have been very fortunate to have beautiful weather lately and more and more parents are walking to pick up their students after school. This has created a need to clarify the District's policy regarding animals on the Hollydale school grounds. For the safety of all, if you are bringing your dog along while picking up your child, you must wait with your leashed dog on the park side of the school. Otherwise, we ask that you please leave your dog at home for the short time you will be here picking up your child. Thank you in advance for your understanding of our need to keep everyone safe.
New for the 2021-22 school year, we are very excited to be able to offer our incoming kindergarten students a way to access the new dual-language program at North Gresham. This is a great opportunity for our community of learners to be able to honor their heritage and develop their language skills in both Spanish and English. There will be more information available about this program at our Connect to Kindergarten event on April 28.
Student report cards are now available to be viewed in ParentVue. If you have any questions, regarding accessing them, please call Cheryl Eki in the Hollydale office.
The Gresham-Barlow School District has opted-out of state tests for the 2020-21 school year.
This is an update to the information that was shared a couple of weeks ago. The district sent an email to all parents the morning of April 21 that explains their decision. Please refer to that if you need additional information.
Please continue to watch for information to come via email and social media Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
If you have any questions or would like to connect with me, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at ramirez26@gresham.k12.or.us or by phone 503-661-6226. It is an honor to be a member of the Hollydale community and I look forward to working with each of your children.

A few amazing facts about our SUN programs, across the district, and other MFS programs! We have been able to offer over $500,000 in Client Assistance through the CARES Act. Through our partnership with CashOregon, our volunteers have helped put refunds of $2.2 million into the pockets of our low-income Oregonians at no cost. And last but not least, our Hunger Relief team has distributed 1.5 MILLION pounds of food to thousands of community members, in the last year!
At Hollydale, SUN has served over 200 families through our Client Assistance and activity kit/virtual programming!
