REMINDER FOR HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS: MONDAY, DEC. 3 PLC TEACHER MEETING TIME - LATE ARRIVAL FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
CR high schools will operate a late arrival schedule on Monday, December 3 for PLC teacher meetings. Two things to remember:

LAST CHANCE TO TAKE COUNCIL ROCK COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING SURVEY
Council Rock is in the beginning stage of developing a three-year comprehensive plan that will be implemented in September 2019 and continue through August 2022. A state-mandated process, school districts undergo comprehensive planning every three years to analyze progress made, envision new conditions for educational success, and ensure that all students are achieving at high levels.

NOTABLE ACTIONS FROM NOVEMBER 29 BOARD MEETING
CRSD will be conducting a Community Security Forum in February 2019. The forum will include an informational session for parents surrounding the ALICE program which has been adopted by CR. In general the ALICE presentation will include the reasons for training, training methodologies, adherence to age and capability appropriate curriculum, training guidelines and a Q/A session.

MEET COUNCIL ROCK'S NEWLY APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, BILL STONE
On November 29, 2018, the Council Rock Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Mr. Bill Stone as Director of Business Administration, effective January 28, 2019. With this approval, Mr. Stone is scheduled to assume the responsibilities of current Director of Business Administration, Mr. Robert Reinhart, who will officially retire on March 14, 2019.
Mr. Stone comes to Council Rock from the Souderton Area School District where he has held the position of Director of Business Affairs since 2012. Prior, he served as Assistant Business Manager for both Upper Dublin School District and Upper Darby School District.
Having grown up in Doylestown, Mr. Stone graduated from Central Bucks West High School and then went on to study at Franklin & Marshall College. In addition to his undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance, Mr. Stone also holds an M.S. in Educational Leadership with a Concentration in School Business Leadership from Wilkes University.
Mr. Stone is currently a member of both the PA Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) Accounting Committee and the PA Institute of CPAs (PICPA) Local Government Accounting & Auditing Committee. His career experience also includes volunteer and leadership positions as Treasurer of the Indian Valley Education Foundation, Board Officer of the School Districts Insurance Consortium, and Delegate/Officer for the Montgomery County Tax Collection Committee.
Mr. Stone lives in Doylestown with his wife Alison and two children and is a proud Youth Sports Coach for the Central Bucks Family YMCA and the Doylestown Athletic Association.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR FBLA NATIONAL COMPETITION
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH STUDENT PERFORMS WITH BEST OF THE BEST AT ANHE
During the 2017-18 school year, Madeline Wray from Council Rock High School North practiced with dedication to gain a chair in her district, region, and state music honor ensembles. And now, Madeline joined the “best of the best” at the National Association for Music Education’s 2018 All-National Honor Ensembles (ANHE) from November 25-28, 2018, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
ANHE performers represent collaboration and creativity in its highest musical form. Students were chosen through an audition process and competed against top competitors for a spot in these national honor ensembles. Selected students rehearsed a challenging repertoire in preparation for performing under the baton of five of the most prominent conductors in the United States. #councilrockproud
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH STUDENT TO PLAY WITH GRAMMY NOMINATED ORCHESTRA THIS WEEKEND
Landsdowne Symphony Orchestra, a Grammy nominated orchestra, will feature Council Rock South student, Lea Wang, as a soloist in their December 2 Holiday Concert at the Upper Darby Performing Art Center this weekend. Lea began studying piano at age four and violin at age six. Currently, she is a first violinist in the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and a violinist in the Gail W. Snitzer Advanced Study String Quartet on generous scholarship from the Settlement Music School of Philadelphia. Previously, Lea served as the co-concertmaster of the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra and the concertmaster of the 2017 and 2018 Bucks County Music Festivals. #councilrockproud
