A message from the Principal
We are about to begin our 6th week of the school year! We are so thankful for all that you are doing to encourage, support, coach and tutor your child each day. These are not easy times, and we appreciate all that you are doing.
Parent/Teacher conferences are the week of October 12th....just a few weeks away. Teachers will be reaching out to families to schedule a time for the virtual conference. At this conference, teachers will share information about your child's academic progress, participation, strengths, and areas of needed growth. Please be on the lookout for information from. your child's teacher.
Assessments are coming! Parents...as we get close to progress report time, teachers will be assessing student learning through more formalized assessments. When we are on campus, students complete these assessments in class independently so that teachers are able to see what it is that each child knows and what each child needs more practice with or more time to learn. We know and understand that you may want to help your child when they come to a task or question that is challenging for them...however, we ask that you let them figure it out for themselves. Words of encouragement such as...' Do the best you can.' and 'Think about what you know and have learned. ' and "You can do this." are all great and help students stay motivated on challenging tasks. Accurate assessment results of what the child can do independently are very important so that your child's teacher can plan appropriately leveled lessons for your child. Thank you in advance for your help with this.
