Austin is in the hill country. It is very hilly all around and is rarely flat and straight. When going around austin there are many twists and turns going around the city. This can help the traffic and not help. With the many curves intoxicated or unfocused drivers may be bound to crash. The helpful side is that if missing a turn or needing to go somewhere fast the hills and turns can help. The turns can help you get a better view. The buildings and streets are built special ways because of the hills.

Region

One of the things Austin is involved with other parts in this region is drought. There has been very little rain fall for this region. They must limit the water distribution and must be very efficient. The rainfall is rare and must be needed for the plants the lakes and us. Another part is the culture, the immigration is very high for this area. Many families are moving in each day and because of this there is more culture.

Movement

There is a lot in this picture. You can see the big skyscrapers which is a part of downtown Austin, the green belts, and the urban areas. First the skyscrapers, they take lots of space it seems like, but they actually take less space since there volume is going up. They have this area just for big skyscrapers and its very compact. A little further back you see the big green belts and thats where lots of trees and animals are. They preserve these areas to protect the trees. They limit the amount of houses or buildings built by the green belts to protect them. Last you can see the houses and other buildings in the back. Thats where most the people live and go to school and for some work. Everything is organized and every area has its purpose and makes more efficiency for everyone.

Human Environment interactions

Austin has a big lake called lake Travis. This is where they built a dam to make hydroelectric power for their city. The electricity help with their power and lets them spend less money on electricity because they are making their own. As well there are lots of hills so Austin can use that to their advantage. Whenever it rains they can build the roads on top of hills so the water doesn't get stuck in the roads. Some of the roads can also be between the hills so where it can make the travel distance shorter and able to consume less gas.
