How to Pass the Reading EOG

1- You can read the passage. When you read it, you need to stop and think about what you have read.

2- Also do NOT rush through it.

3- You can summarize the passage. When you summarize you put the main ideas in your own words in your head.

4- You can cover the answers. Don't look at the answers while you read. Figure out the answer first in your mind, then uncover the answers.

5- You can ask your self who the characters are.You can ask your self what the plot is. Plot is events in the story. It's what happens first, second, third, and so on.

6- You can analysis the text. This means that you stop and analyze what you are reading.

7- You can ask your self what the theme is. Theme is the author wants to learn about life.

8- You can draw and support the inferences. An inference is using the information from the text and putting it together with what you already know.

9- You can figure out the connotative meanings. This means the feeling or emotion that a word gives you. For example, the word "school" makes me feel tired and bored.

10- You can ask your self the point of view.

11- You can ask your self the tone. Tone is how the narrator tells story.

12- You can ask your self the structure of the poem.

13- You can ask your self the drama structure.

14- You can compare and contrast. Compare means tell how things are alike. Contrast means tells how they are differend.

15- You can support details.

16- Help to explain the main idea.You can elaborating key details.

17- The author elaborate through examples.

18- You can support inferences. By using evidence from the text.

19- You can analyze the text structures by helping develop the ideas of the text by thinking. You have to think about the text to analyze it.

20- You need to underline.
