Do Gun Control Laws Really Help?
Gun control laws haven't really helped. States that have strict gun laws still have high crime rates and murders can still be committed with unregistered weapons.
Strict Gun Laws
Places that have strict gun laws still have high crime rates. For example, Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country but also has the highest murder rate. Strict gnu laws don't help because people that commit crimes don't buy their guns at a store, they don't go through background checks, they get their guns illegally. With that being said the only thing gun laws are doing is preventing people from being able to own these weapons to protect themselves and their families.
Murders
A lot of murders are committed with unregistered weapons so even with the strictest gun laws they can't prevent murders from happening. People should be allowed to own guns to protect themselves in their homes.
Conclusion
Overall, gun control laws haven't really helped because high crime rates still exist even with the strictest gun laws and a lot of crimes are committed with unregistered weapons. Criminals do not go to the store to buy their weapons there is no way to stop these people from getting these weapon. With that being said gun laws can't and never will end these crimes.
