Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 2 Issue 14 - 11/27/22
Greetings Clipper Nation!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break.
As we return tomorrow, please remind your student to be mindful of what they post online. Unfortunately, social media created some negative feelings among students prior to thanksgiving break. If you or your student are concerned with anything you have seen on social media, please report the site and let us know so we can help. It takes all of us working together to address social media concerns.
As we return tomorrow, we have just three short weeks before winter break and only 12 days of school in December. In an attempt to bring some fun to school, the SGA worked with me to put together the 12 days before winter break. These theme days are for students and staff. Check out the visual below. The days will start with a Red Out on Thursday, and then on Friday, everyone will have an opportunity to write a note of thanks to someone in the building.
Let's embrace the season of giving and kindness.

College Essay Support
We have good news for seniors who are working on their college essays! Through the Title IV grant, Ms. Cahall and Mrs. Taylor will be available to review your college essays and provide feedback starting on Monday, October 3rd – Saturday, December 31st.
Here’s how it works: You will need to email the teacher you would like to work with letting them know you would like for them to review your essay. They will then send you information so that you can upload your essay, the writing prompt or question that you are responding to along with any questions or comments about the essay you have sent them. The teacher will add you in an assignment on Google Classroom where all communication about your essay will occur.
Contact information for Participating Teachers:
Mrs. Chelsea Taylor: chtaylor@wcboe.org
Ms. Jennifer Cahall: jcahall@wcboe.org
Of course if there is another teacher you would like to have review your essays you are welcome to contact them, but Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are the teachers that are part of this project. They are looking forward to reading your essays and supporting you through this process!

How to Stay in the Know?
The best way to stay in the know is to make sure we have accurate information on file. Please look over all the information on the Student Personal Data and Enrollment Information Form as this is the information we currently have on file for you. Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school. If you prefer to fill out a new form you can find a copy on our website.
