Self Care
1. Taking care of yourself is crucial for reducing anxiety, stress, and frustration, while also boosting energy, happiness, and overall mental health.
2. Implementing self-care practices in your daily routine doesn't have to be time-consuming. Just like you wouldn't ignore a physical injury, prioritize your emotional and mental well-being too. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup!
If your student has been accepted to a magnet school please follow up with the deadline provided and notify the campus if you accept or decline.

Counseling Program Components
Responsive Services
Counselors assist students whose immediate personal problems or concerns negatively impact their educational, career, personal, or social development at risk.
- The purpose of Responsive Services are to provide Intervention and Prevention.
- Areas addressed are academic concerns, abuse, grief/ loss, family issues, stress, and friendships.
Individual Planning
Counselors guide students as they plan, monitor, and manage their own educational, career, personal, and social development.
- The purpose of Individual Planning is student planning and goal-setting.
- Areas addressed are educational, career, and personal-social goals.
Guidance
Counselors teach skills-based lessons that help students develop competence in essential life skills.
- We teach 6-8 lessons per grade level each year based on skills needed for development.
- Eighth graders will receive their lessons through Communication Applications/ MAPS classes; Sixth graders will receive their lessons through Science, Social Studies, advisory or SCE Classes; and seventh graders will receive their lessons through Science, or History classes.
System Support
Counselors support staff, parents, and the community so we can assure the delivery of a high quality guidance program through the use of various management activities.

The Lifeline network and its partners are working to change the conversation from suicide to suicide prevention, to actions that can promote healing, help and give hope.
