Nuts and Bolts
Field Day is Monday!!! Feel free to dress casually or comfortably for the events.
As far as I know this has not been an issue here, but it was discussed at our principal's meeting recently. No staff members can tutor on school property and charge for their services. You can tutor for free before or after school in the building. If you charge a fee, you must do so in another location. This is a district wide policy and must be followed. Those services can be considered a third party business and schools can in no way be involved. This also includes sending out staff emails to sell an item. If you have a fundraiser or small business to promote, you can put that information in the lounge with a note, but please do not send out emails.
Please get those Awards turned back into me ASAP so we can get those sorted, lists made and filed in folders.
Please see the Awards Week RA schedule.

Curriculum and Instruction
PIVOT Goals: If you have your PIVOT growth goal data, you may go ahead and submit it into PIVOT. If you are waiting on DIBELS EOY data or another piece of data, that is fine but please put it in as soon as it is available.
Thinking ahead to next year: If you are wanting to make any changes to your district curriculum team assignment, please notify me so I can begin planning.
FTCSC DIBELS GOALS: Accuracy 85%and Fluency 80%
Boost those Skills:
Fluency develops as a result of many opportunities to practice reading with a high degree of success. Therefore, your students should practice rereading aloud texts that are reasonable easy for them-that is texts containing mostly words that they know or can decode easily. A text with about 95% accuracy or above will help your students focus on their fluency. The text your students practice rereading orally should also be relatively short-probably 50-200 words. You should also use a variety of reading materials including stories, nonfiction, and poetry. Poetry is especially well suited to fluency practice because poems for children are often short and they contain rhythm, rhyme, and meaning, making practice easy, fun and rewarding.
Reaching ALL Learners
At every grade level, use a variety of classroom strategies that strengthen social and emotional skills.
Embed turn-taking skills in class, even at the secondary level. You can introduce and embed these skills using strategies such as learning/work stations, partner work, and cooperative learning.
Remind students to thank their classmates after completing collaborative work.
