Successes!
*To Kristen and Karen for creating a helpful, 'just in time' playlist for Rdg/LA to begin the year!
*To ALL for great BTSN sessions!
*To Kim for a timesaver Video Request Form template!
Monday Meetings
Schedule: K-1 at 9:00, Gr. 2-3 at 10:00, Gr. 4-5 at 11:00, Specialists 2:30.
We will set up recurring meeting links and push those out this coming week to the teams.
Faculty Meetings- certain Mondays at 1:30-2:30pm. These will be added to the Google Staff calendar. First meeting will be 9/28.
A few related considerations:
*Provides time for morning meeting to be completed and any last minute details with asynchronous work for the day.
*Staggered enough so that resource staff are not double booked based on grade.
*Although grade levels are two at a time, meetings would still be separate. At times, grade level meetings could be combined meetings for certain short PDs or information that is to be shared that can be adjusted by level for discussion purposes.
*Faculty meetings will be used for items requiring whole staff discussion/dissemination of information or PD that is best suited for larger mixed group participation.
*On Mondays where there is no faculty meeting, the afternoons would be open for additional planning, collaboration, ‘just in time’ supports and other meetings.Informational Items and Reminders
*Attendance Info: Click HERE for the attendance information covered in Thursday's meetings as well as a link to the LCPS Attendance Guidelines (elem&sec). We will not start 'tracking' chronic cases until the third week of school, knowing we will have some issues with connectivity, etc the first few weeks.
*Please email Chris the SEL certificate after completing the three modules in Second Step.
*Please complete the information forms Michele sent out.
*Employee Handbooks: Look for an email with a Permission Click Form to acknowledge. There will not be printed books this year.
*Synchronous Recordings: Per the county, we are to record all synchronous sessions. Recordings will be maintained from the beginning of the marking period until the interim date, and then from the interim date to the end of the marking period. Recordings automatically go into a Google Drive.
*Recordings Pt 2: There is not an expectation that we post all sessions in Schoology daily. This would involve renaming all videos and posting each day. To make things more manageable, parents could request to view the video. The teacher could have a folder in the Schoology page where the video could be posted for the parent in lieu of emailing parents recordings. Linked at the bottom of the Post is a sample Video Request Form you could use for this purpose. Thanks to Kim for this.
*Every Kid's Dream: Minecraft Education Edition is now available on Chromebooks. Staff/students would have to install on the Chromebook via the Google Play Store. No P.Click form needed. Students cannot join their worlds together unless they are on same wifi network. This will change once we go hybrid. Lot of value in the program in terms of opportunities for problem solving, collaboration, creativity. Ex. perhaps students design a house with or room with certain dimensions.
*For staff working on-site, we will need to continue to sign in/out, mask wearing, social distancing, frequent hand-washing in our 'new norm'.
Penguin T-Shirts (PTA)
Also, the staff membership rate continues to $8. Membership forms are available in the office or membership can be done online on the PTA website.
