Perry L. Drew Elementary School students read the book Mixed:A Colorful Story, which is a fun book about color mixing with a great message about everyone being proud to be who they are and getting along, no matter your color. After reading, they made marbleized art using shaving cream and food coloring and then turned it into slime!
Thanks to the generosity of the Grace N. Rogers Elementary School PTO, students were able to participate in a guest speaker assembly. Rashad Davis an award winning author and illustrator came to talk about goal setting and his journey of finding his passion, following his dream and becoming a success. He also treated students to modeling how he digitally draws characters for his books.
Ms. Lane at Melvin H. Kreps Middle School implemented a new unit on cooking this year and she has been inviting guest cooks into the class. David Roe, Director of Student Services, was a guest cook in December where he demonstrated how to make pizza. The students then each made their own pizza!
Melvin H. Kreps Middle School Choral & Instrumental Music Concert
On Tuesday, January 12, and Thursday, January 14, Melvin H. Kreps Middle School presented a wonderful choral and instrumental music concert.
Both nights were packed with parents, friends, and loved ones there to support our talented MHK singers and instrumentalists as they showcased their performing arts talents.
A plethora of musical genres and styles - from contemporary, classical, jazz, and pop - were performed after a semester of hard work with their wonderful music teachers.
