Mindcraft PBIS Celebration!
At Winston Campus Elementary School, we are always working on creating a predictable, consistent, positive and safe climate for our students and staff. We strive to help students grow academically and emotionally.
We strongly believe that our school should be a warm and welcoming place. We also believe that there is no place for any type of disrespectful behavior at school. Therefore, our goal is to eliminate disrespectful behavior from our building by teaching our students D15's Expect Respect Bully Prevention Curriculum.
Bullying” is repeated aggression, harassment, threats or intimidation when one person has greater status or power than another.“ All bullying behavior is disrespectful, not all disrespectful behavior is bullying.
All Winston Campus Elementary classes have learned our 5 Expect Respect Routines.
School-wide behavioral expectation - Be Respectful
Stop routine when faced with disrespectful behavior
Bystander stop routine when observing disrespectful behavior
Stopping routine if someone tells you to “stop”.
A recruit help routine to recruit adult help if you feel unsafe.
At Winston Campus Elementary, We are T.R.R.F.C.C! (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship). Our goal is to follow the District 15 Vision, Mission, and Values for Social Emotional Learning. Our PBIS theme for the year is to Level Up! After we meet certain learning objectives and goals, we will celebrate with our students as we Level Up in our game theme!
For our first PBIS celebration, students got to build and explore the Minecraft landscape they created! Some class chose to recreate a Minecraft landscape out of boxes while others chose to celebrate by exploring Minecraft at Code.org. Students earned this opportunity after they practiced the 5 routines of Expect Respect, and reviewed how to be a good citizen!
Picture Re-Takes! Wednesday, October 13!
Students that did not take a photo previously on Picture Day will take photos. Any student that places an online order or brings in a picture day form will take photos. To order online please go to inter-state.com/order oder code is 61357BB. Please call the school office if you have any questions!
News from the Nurse
Physicals & Immunizations Due on 10/15.
For the purpose of safeguarding the health of children, District 15 enforces Illinois student health requirements. These requirements consist of health, dental, and eye exams, and immunizations specific to grade and age and can be found on our website. Students who did not meet the state health requirements last year because they did not enter the school buildings and were learning virtually, need to meet those requirements this year. School nurses have been connecting with families who still need to meet these requirements. If you are unsure or need assistance, please reach out to your school nurse.

This site was created to reach out to all of my students, teachers, and families and provide a platform of awareness and support.
District 15 is "green" in its approach to distributing community flyers. Rather than sending flyers home with each student via backpack mail, flyers are posted on the D15 E-Flyers page for parents to view or print 24/7.
