Welcome Back CPC COS families to the 2022-23 school year. We are excited to have our teachers and staff back at school, students back in classrooms and parents back on campuses. With new Superintendent Alberto Carvalho's start of his 100-day plan and foundation for the work ahead, including the development of our 2022-26 Strategic Plan, we know this is just the start of a successful year for all students.

We look forward to supporting our parents, students and families at all 21 of our schools. Our office is now fully open for parent workshops, meetings or just to answer questions, so feel free to call or come on by anytime.

All our schools opened up their doors early with Orientations for Kindergarten, Middle and High Schools to prepare our students with lockers, scheduled, Chromebooks and PE Clothes.

Thank you to Kona Ice NorthValley for your generosity of sending your truck to our local schools to treat our teachers/staff with a cool treat to get the year started. Superior, Nevada, Chatsworth Park and Lawrence Middle School teachers and staff appreciate the community generosity of Kona Ice!

Student and parent leaders at Porter Ranch Community School were welcomed on the first day of school with a visit from LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, Local District Northwest Superintendent David Baca and Board Member Scott Schmerleson.

Topeka Drive PTA hosted their annual Preschool, TK, Kindergarten Extravaganza welcoming the new students and their families to Topeka Elementary the week before school started. The students were able to get acquainted with their fellow classmates, meet with their teacher, and visit their classroom. Parents were able to meet with the PTA, learn about all the programs they help support for every student at Topeka, and the importance of building a strong and more inclusive school community by getting involved. Families were also able to purchase Topeka Spirit Wear for the entire family as well as take home fresh vegetables that grew over the summer in Topeka's organic garden. The last highlight of the welcome party was ending it with snow cones. What better way to end a hot day than with a delicious, cold snow cone!

Germain Elementary welcomed parents back to their parent center with a workshop on Back to School Anxiety Workshop to help support parents with strategies to help their students with anxiety. With a special guest speaker and collaboratively working together as parents, they formed a great support group to help relieve everyone's anxiety. Back to School Night was a hit at Chatsworth Park UPD. With a welcoming entry to our campus, parents and guardians were welcomed to visit classrooms, attend presentations and meet the teachers, staff, and PTA. Food trucks were present to satisfy any craving!

We loved having our families back on campus at Chatsworth Park and look forward to a wonderful school year!

Lordan Napoli, Principal Shelly Brower & Charisma Bote-Zenetzis welcome parents at the Volunteer Table. August 23rd, Beckford welcomed families back with an ice cream social organized by the Beckford PTA! Smiles radiated the campus as parents were able to learn about volunteer opportunities, receive details on our after-school programs, catch up with old friends and meet new friends. Beckford looks forward to an amazing school year!
