Raven Lynx News
Ben Eielson Jr. Sr. High - Aug. 22nd
The 20-21 school year started Thursday remotely with teachers connecting with students virtually via google meet or zoom meetings. Teachers and the counseling office will work with families without internet access to provide instructional support and materials. The enclosed 'remote schedule' shows when students, if able, will need to connect with their class for direct instruction. It also outlines the times teachers will be available for instructional support where individuals can reach our Ben Eielson teachers.
If your student needs a device or textbook please contact the Library staff as we have chromebooks available for checkout. Our Office Hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, upon arrival please call as our building remains locked throughout the day.
Information found in this newsletter includes:
Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) Meeting - Zoom link for Monday Aug. 24th.
Nutrition Services - Meal Service during remote/building closed.
This weekend we started competitions for High School sports, with our Football team kicking off Friday at North Pole, our JV Volleyball serving it up at Monroe Friday and Saturday, our Varsity Volleyball spiking their way at the Jamboree at West Valley Saturday, and up at Birch Hill Ski trails our Raven Runners hit the trails for the first Cross Country races of the year. These HS sports have protocols and mitigation plans that are sport and venue specific, we will provide information for each sport on our Website and as we finalize schedules we will send out messaging via our newsletter.
The start of school looks and feels different and will include challenges that we may not have immediate answers for. I would like to thank you in advance, as well as your current patience during the start of the school year as we Build for Success!
