Macleans Primary School Newsletter
Wednesday 22 February

Macleans Primary School Community
Hi Everyone
Hope we are all well and have had a good week so far. At least it has been a full week of school :)) The children are settling well into classes. Routines and learning programmes are established and underway, and the Macleans Values are in action across all areas of the school!.
Cyclone Gabriella has certainly devastated many lives across NZ. As a country we all want to help, and at Macleans Primary we are going to support by having a cazh day this Friday 24 February. A gold coin (s) can be brought to school or paid through kindo (see info. below). Please note that this replaces the 'Loud Shirt Day' we had originally planned as a fundraiser.
Our home-school partnership is important in all aspects of school life, from your child's learning and well-being to communication. Although we offer parent conferences a couple of times a year, supported by our 'real-time' Macleans Learning Pathways, we encourage all parents to talk with the teacher in the first instance if there are any learning or well-being issues/questions you may have.
As for communication, there are may ways we do this:
•email notices school-wide
•emails from class teachers
•email newsletter
•Macleans Primary School Facebook (notices & newsletters are added to FB)
•seesaw (classes and school-wide)
•skool loop - this is a phone app.
•text message
•paper copy of notices
•website
And of course good old fashioned 'face to face', so pop in for a chat anytime! :)))
Have a great rest of the week and please enjoy this newsletter.
Regards & Nga Mihi

Term 2 Ballot
Macleans Primary School
Term 2 2023 - Enrolments
Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available from the school office or on the website.
The Board has determined that there will be places available for out of zone students commencing school in Term 2, 2023.
The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
For students seeking out of zone enrolment in Term 2, 2023, the deadline for receipt of applications for out of zone places is 4.00pm on Tuesday 14th March.
Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child during Term 2 should notify the school by Friday 17th March to assist the school to plan appropriately for the next term.
Applications should be made by submitting a completed enrolment form online. Enrolment forms can be accessed from the Macleans Primary Website (www.macleansprimary.school.nz) and Macleans Primary Facebook page. Enrolment packages are also available at the school office.
If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If this is required, it will be held on Tuesday 21st March under supervision. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
Length of enrolment period - Term 2: 14 February - 14 March
Deadline for receipt of applications: 14 March
Date of ballot: 21 March
