School Reopening Update
St. Mary's County Public Schools will be moving to a virtual only start to the school year. Instruction will begin on Monday, August 31st.
I want you to know that our teachers and staff would love to have all of the students return to school but only when it is safe for everyone involved. We will miss that first day of school excitement and all those smiles, hugs, and high fives.
We are working on a plan for students and families to be introduced to their new teacher. Additionally, we are working on a plan for distribution of student instructional materials. We will share information as soon as it is finalized.
Did you miss yesterday's Town Hall? Watch it here https://youtu.be/rX1fQjm4wmM. Next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12th.
Please read the Superintendent's Letter to Families. Please respond to the online survey to let us know if your student has a device or access, as well as technology needs. Please complete a separate form for each child. The link to the Leonardtown Elementary School survey is posted online at https://tinyurl.com/SMCPSreturnTech. Once on the site, scroll down to Leonardtown Elementary School and click the link. Please complete this survey by August 5, 2020. Thank you in advance for providing your information.
Warmly,
Dr. Quick-McQueen
