Hello Bobcat Families!
We successfully completed our first five days of school! Please remember that next Thursday, September 16th there is no school due to Yom Kippur. We have a lot of important information below, and we cannot wait to see you next week! Enjoy the beautiful weekend!
Storm Update - We are here to help!
If your family or a New Leb family you know was impacted by Hurricane Ida and needs assistance, please reach out to Ms. Cyr or Ms. Corrente at:
kaitlin_cyr@greenwich.k12.ct.us
Sandra_Corrente@greenwich.k12.ct.us
We are here to help!
You can also reach out to the Town of Greenwich social services at 203-622-3800 and families can receive a case worker once they call and answer questions.
In addition, residents can upload information, including photos, at www.greenwichct.org/ida about the extent of their damages, First Selectman Fred Camillo said. The town is working with the state to identify the extent of damage, according to the website. The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security can use the information to determine whether FEMA thresholds are met and a disaster declaration is needed, the website says. “FEMA is looking specifically for the number of households that had major structural damage or were destroyed,” the website says.
Precautions for homeowners & businesses to take after the flood

Join ClassDojo!
Have you joined your new teacher's class dojo yet? If not, please download the app and be on the lookout for information on how to join! This is the main way we communicate with families about what is happening during the school day, so you can stay connected with us! You can also use this to share any information about your child, but please remember that teachers are teaching during the day, so they will not respond to you until after school!
Reporting Absences & Changes to Dismissal Plans
If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the main office to report this absence. The main office will notify the teachers of the absence and the reason. If your child's dismissal plan changes during the day, please call the main office. The main office will notify the teachers of the dismissal change. Our teachers are teaching during the day - they are very busy!
Breakfast and Lunch - Free For All!
PLEASE NOTE FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH FORMS WENT HOME IN FRIDAY FOLDERS ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD. Please fill these out and return them to the main office. Breakfast and lunch will continue to be free for all students, but we do need these forms filled out in order to maintain this status.

Construction at The Byram Shubert Library
The library has begun construction on their curbs. This limits parking at the library, but we will still be able to use the library for exiting New Leb to the street.
Arrival & Dismissal
Thank you for your patience as we navigate arrival and dismissal - our afters are up and running, so traffic should be less congested in the afternoon. A reminder that Pre-K, K, 1st, and 2nd grade arrival is at the front of the school (bridges), and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade enter at the gym doors.
Attention 5th Grade Families!
You should have received the 5th Grade Donation letter and form on Friday. It was sent home in your child's Friday folder. Check your email for more information. If you did not receive an email, please contact Dana Rodriguez at danaprdrgz@gmail.com.
Quarantine
There might be a situation where your child is asked to quarantine - please be sure to charge their iPad every night, and ask them to see their Google Classroom on their iPad, so you can start to familiarize yourself with our online teaching platform.
Together in Safety and Learning,
