Creating fully-formed followers of Jesus Christ!
Pastor's Weekly Visit
Dear PCC Family,
“Bleak is the weather, but cheerful the heart that rests in Christ.” What a great quote. (Actually, I just made up that quote, but I do like it. I hope you like it, too.) We find our joy not in circumstances or weather, but in our secure relationship with our Savior. Let’s keep leaning into Jesus and His Word.
Remember to attend our annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, January 30 (6:00 pm) and take a few minutes to read the new ministry descriptions (click below) as Pastor Chris will step into the Lead Pastor position and I’ll step into the Pastor of Discipleship position, contingent on the vote of the membership on January 30.
P.S.— Take a moment to listen to this week’s Pastoral Visit video about the gift of God’s Word.
Pastoral Transition Plan
Pastor Arcadi will take on the role of Lead Pastor. Pastor Goodnough will take on the role of Pastor of Discipleship. Please bathe this transition in prayer as we anticipate God’s blessing on a new chapter of leadership at PCC.
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday
Dan and his wife Rebecca have lived in Rochester since they graduated from Houghton College and they celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. Their daughter Lydia is done homeschooling and is working to save money as she figures out her next steps. Dan served as a missionary to children for over 10 years and loves to share God’s word with kids. He recently began leading the children’s ministry at Journey Christian Church as well as serving as an elder. During the summer of 2020 the Lord used the Covid-19 outbreak and the local riots to awaken him to some deep needs in our community and brought him to a place where he was desperate to make a real difference in people’s hearts and for eternity. Dan says, “I am so thankful that the Lord led me to join the CompassCare team that fall. I am now serving as the Rochester Regional Executive and so excited to see how God is using the church to erase the need for abortion across the state!”

Let Life Shine: Baby Bottle Drive
Starting this Sunday, January 16th, baby bottles will be handed out to be taken home and filled with change, cash, or checks. These bottles will help support and fund Care Net of Wayne County, an organization that helps save the lives of the unborn and meet the physical and spiritual needs of the men and women who find themselves facing unplanned pregnancies.
A table will be set up in the hallway where you can find out more information and pick up a bottle. Return the bottle to the same table by March 6th so they can be taken to Care Net.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Ellen Reed at: (585)746-2958 or firstname.lastname@example.org
