Creating fully-formed followers of Jesus Christ!

Weekly Note from the Pastors

God is still at work! Our teens were able to attend an out-of-state retreat (URIMON) this past week. Plans are in progress for fall children’s classes and small groups. We have a congregational meeting on Sunday to vote on funds for a new organ. Spiritual formation is taking place daily as we each respond to the Holy Spirit’s transforming work in our lives during this season of caution. Keep looking for ways that God is at work. Remember, He most often works through others—through you. By the way, Pastor Chris is taking a much-deserved vacation and will be available only in limited times throughout August.

P.S.—Let God's Word encourage you and turn you back if you are at the point of throwing in the towel on a situation. Jesus gave us the example of never giving up in Luke 18. God desires to help you. God is on your side.

What's Going on at PCC?

Communion Sunday

This Sunday is Communion Sunday. If you’re worshiping at home, please prepare your own bread and cup in advance as we share in this special remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sunday Worship Service (Sundays, 10:30 am)

People are gradually returning to in-person worship while others are continuing to worship via livestream. For the foreseeable future face masks and 6-foot distancing will be the standard, but these hurdles don’t prevent us from heartfelt worship!

Spanish Language Service (Sundays, 10:00 am)

Our Hispanic congregation meets in-person in the Apex and via livestream each Sunday. We praise God for this wonderful part of our PCC family!

Congregational Meeting

There will be a brief congregational meeting this Sunday, August 2, 11:45 am in the Worship Center (with overflow in the Family Life Center) to vote on the following motion: PCC authorizes the Board of Trustees to expend up to $4,000 from the PCC budget in order to supplement those donations designated to purchase a replacement organ at a cost of $29,500. Any money donated to the organ fund, after the purchase is completed, will be used to reimburse the PCC budget up to the supplemental expenditure amount that was required. Members are encouraged to attend in person or, if preferable, via Zoom. Those joining via Zoom may or may not be able to vote, depending on our tech team’s achievements by the time of the meeting.

Organ fund update: As of July 26th, the current organ fund donation level was at $25,584.75.

Fall Worship Schedule

The Vision Deacons have approved a plan to change our worship service times beginning September 13. We’ll resume a two-service schedule, with worship services at 8:45 am and 11:00 am. Sunday School classes will meet from 10:00-10:45 am. This schedule will help highlight spiritual formation opportunities for the whole family and allow time between worship services to sanitize the Worship Center.

PCC has begun using an app to check in for services and communicate upcoming events! (Once everything gets up and running again other features will become available as well!). The App is called Church Center. It is free to download and easy to use. Simply go to the app store on your smartphone and download the “Church Center” app. Find Pittsford Community Church by using your location or typing in Pittsford to the search bar and sign into the app using your personalized log in information. If you need more help, we have created a quick tutorial video. Watch it by clicking here. Currently, we are asking you to use the app to check yourself and your family into our Sunday morning church service. Simply go on the app on Sunday mornings, click the check-in button on the bottom of the screen, and check in! Simple and easy. Obviously, every new system has it’s kinks so if you have trouble logging in or if you don’t see members of your family on the check-in screen please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pastor Chris (arcadi@pittsfordcc.org) or the church office (mail@pittsfordcc.org)!

A Journey with Jesus

The Travel Narrative in the

Gospel of Luke

“Jesus Warns about Worry”

(Luke 12:22-34)

1. Don’t be anxious! God cares for you, so learn to live by faith (12:22-28).

2. Don’t be agitated! God knows your needs, so make His kingdom your priority (12:29-31).

3. Don’t be afraid! God is generous toward you, so invest in heavenly treasures (12:32-34).
