Weekly Note from the Pastors

Dear Pittsford Community Church Family,

Two quick items to put on your calendars . . . Saturday, October 24 is our annual Fall Cleanup Day at PCC, so join us for an hour or longer to catch up on projects both indoors and outdoors . . . Sunday, November 8 is our Missions Celebration Sunday with special guest speaker Torrance Jones who will be with us for both morning worship services live and livestream. Remember to pray for one another. You can submit prayer requests for our weekly prayer page, and you can access that page to pray for those in need (and there are several pressing needs). Thanks for being a part of the PCC family.

See you on Sunday!

Pastor Dana

P.S.— Take a moment to listen to this week’s Pastoral Visit video about Christ’s church.

Big picture

Believer's Baptism

Have you been baptized as a believer in Jesus Christ? We’ve scheduled a baptism service for Sunday morning, November 22. Contact one of the pastors if you would like to learn more about baptism as an important step in your spiritual commitment.

Sundays at PCC

Join us for one of our two in-person worship services (8:45 and 11:00 am), or tune in either hour for livestream. In addition, Sunday School classes for Kindergarten through adults is also underway again (10:00-10:45 am). Also, our Spanish Language Service meets in the Worship Center at 4:00 pm. Hey, not a bad time to tell others about church on line or on site!

Safety First

As we enter the fall reopening we want to remind ourselves that, for everyone’s safety and in compliance with state guidelines, those who attend services and small groups in person at PCC should wear masks and maintain six-foot social distancing between families. Masks must be worn during class times and during services (except when the congregation is seated for the sermon). If you cannot wear a face mask for medical reasons and still want to attend in person, please contact one of the pastors to form a workable plan. Thanks for understanding and helping one another engage in PCC events safely and comfortably.

Spanish Language Service Outreach

Enamorados de Jesús (In Love with Jesus), our Spanish language service will meets at 4:00 pm in the Worship Center. Guests are always welcome, and prayers for this ministry are especially welcome.

PCC Fall Cleanup Day on October 24th from 9 to 3.

Come when you can and leave when you have to. Let’s honor God with keeping His house neat and clean. The bulk of the cleanup will be outside as the Pandemic has limited the work inside. Come bring the kids and teach them the importance of honoring our Lord and taking care of the wonderful building He has given us. Lunch will be provided. Come have a great afternoon! -- Bud Knapp

Congrats to Isaac Roberto! Prayers for his continued training!

Isaac is serving in the US Navy. He left for Boot Camp on August 5th and graduated on October 1st. Things have been quite different with covid and we were not able to attend an in person graduation, but were able to see a much shorter version via YouTube. He has transferred to his A-school in South Carolina with the title of ETN Isaac Roberto. He is in the nuclear field and will be assigned to a submarine after he completes the 22 months of training. We're very proud of him! -- Phillip and Dawn Roberto

"Thank you PCC Family for your generous donation of 10 Bibles to the Gideons International in memory of Bob. Thank you Dana for the telephone calls and visits. We appreciate all our PCC Family for their love and support!" -- The Family of Robert McCullough

A note of thanks from Betty Baldes, at the Homegoing of her husband, Robert Baldes, Sr.:

"Dear Dana, Bob, Val and the family appreciated your coming to attend my husband's funeral/celebration of his life. Thank PCC for the gift of Bibles in remembrance of Bob. May the Lord use them to bring people to salvation and also encourage others. God's blessing,"

-- Betty and family

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS IN CHURCH OFFICE

Over the past 2+ years the office has acquired quite a collection of items that appear to be of value--mostly jewelry, glasses, and keys--that have not been claimed! If you think you need to check for that missing/lost earring or other item, please come to the office when it's open and check. We prefer you not call the office and ask us to look for you (there are too many items to go through), but feel free to stop by and look through our "collection" when the office is open (Tuesday-Friday, 9-Noon, 1-4 pm).

Download the PCC App

PCC has begun using an app to check in for services and communicate upcoming events! (Once everything gets up and running again other features will become available as well!). The App is called Church Center. It is free to download and easy to use. Simply go to the app store on your smartphone and download the “Church Center” app. Find Pittsford Community Church by using your location or typing in Pittsford to the search bar and sign into the app using your personalized log in information. If you need more help, we have created a quick tutorial video. Watch it by clicking here. Currently, we are asking you to use the app to check yourself and your family into our Sunday morning church service. Simply go on the app on Sunday mornings, click the check-in button on the bottom of the screen, and check in! Simple and easy. Obviously, every new system has it’s kinks so if you have trouble logging in or if you don’t see members of your family on the check-in screen please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pastor Chris (arcadi@pittsfordcc.org) or the church office (mail@pittsfordcc.org)!
