Health Mentor avaliable to work with students at AHS
Hello! My name is Haven, and I am excited to announce that I will be starting work at Armstrong as a Health Mentor. Through the Better Together Hennepin Initiative (https://www.hennepin.us/bettertogether), area high schools partner with Hennepin County to bring a sexual health educator onto their campuses full time. I am an educator at the Annex Teen Clinic (https://annexteenclinic.org/), and I will be working with Armstrong to provide education, support, and tools to students and staff to help students make healthy and safe decisions.
Through classroom instruction, small group meetings, and one on one meetings with students, I will be working to ensure students have factual and age-appropriate information about topics including, but not limited to, consent, healthy and unhealthy relationships, birth control, and sexually transmitted infections. I can also make referrals for students seeking other services, like health care, mental health services, domestic and relationship violence support, and housing support.
Parents and guardians are a young person’s first and most important sexuality educators, so please reach out to your grade level counselor, if you would like to connect. I’m excited to be a part of the Armstrong community!

Seniors Only:
Class of 2022 Senior Picture submission is open. All the information you need can be found on the yearbook website. Submit ONE picture with a vertical orientation. Please make sure to have the student’s name in the picture file to make sure everyone gets placed properly.
Baby ads are a tradition of the AHS book. Families may place a baby picture and personal message for their graduate. When ordering, select the “Senior Special,” which will get you a book and baby ad for a discounted price. The ad revenue helps keep the cost of the books as low as possible for all students. Ads can also be purchased separately so that multiple family members can choose to submit. After purchasing an ad, you will receive an email from balfour.com with instructions about submitting.
Senior pictures, baby ads, and all discounts close Dec. 1, 2021.

Student Pick Up Reminder:
If you are picking up your student for any reason during the school day, please alert the office ahead of time. We ask that you do this a minimum of two hours prior to their scheduled departure. For your convenience, this can be done by phone 763-504-8800, or by having your student bring a parent/guardian note to the front desk at the beginning of the school day. We truly want to have your student ready and waiting for you, ensure on-time arrival for their appointment, avoid any confusion in the office, and allow AHS to make the appropriate arrangements to have your student released from class in a non-disruptive and timely fashion. Thank you for helping us to serve you and your student/s better.
